Title: IBM ThinkPad Logo Stickers.
Post by: J888www on Mon, 25 October 2010, 05:30:21
Noticed the Forum have many people who use Thinkpads. Why not make it a little more special by replacing the plastic Logos with some Limited Editions (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260447188550&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#shId) (Aluminium).
They are selling like hot-cakes and once gone, it may be difficult to find others.

Do you have any pictures of those attached to your Thinkpad?

I would like to know how well they are in being worn off due to the raised edges.. also, how does one stick 'em on the laptop? Is the background brownish yellow as per the sticker or you have to do one bye one?

Apology for the blurred pic, I'm still having probs remembering to upgrade my camera.
The logo is made from Aluminium, the yellow is just the lighting.
Carefully peel off the logo from the laptop (without scratching the casing), remove the transparent plastic backing from the new logo and stick to laptop, then remove the blue plastic film protector.
Spare Aluminium Logos with blue film protector, Spare original colour logos and Aluminium logo attached to ThinkPad.

As to how well it wears, I don't know as I have only recently replaced it on the ThinkPad, as it is aluminium, I'd expect it to be more durable than the printed coloured stickers.
It is a matter of personal taste, if you don't like it , then just get more of the other stickers and change it back.

It is of the exact size (T60p) as the coloured logos, other models may differ.
One advantage is that if you have bad eyesight, you can read the Logos like braille. Most apt pour moi.

I ordered one.

I think.

The emails have all been in German.

Don't you need 2 ? as the listing is not for a "pair".
Well, I suppose if you like it, you can always order another.

It's a flat piece of embossed aluminium logo, it "sticks" on the casing.
