Airlines are failing all over the place, unsustainable, Boeing is doing terrible, airports are shuttering entire wings, and yet people are flying more than ever before.
Obviously the industry is on the brink, and cannot sustain itself even with all the customers. I don't know how they are consistently losing money with more people traveling and flying than ever before in human history, but they are managing to do it.
How long till we start to see privatized airlines cropping up, run by tech billionaires and influencers? Would you risk flying on Mr. Beast Airlines?

Economic metrics do not exactly reflect reality.
A person who has a billion dollars, is different than a person who has a billion dollars worth of rice.
The economic metric, is whatever we say it is. THAT has been the crux of the problem.

They've been failing for decades.
They won't privatize until that's the only option left because they wouldn't qualify for as many bailouts/tax cuts/handouts, for a lot of industries that's pretty much their business model.
