Post by: rob_nlandkeys on Thu, 19 September 2024, 03:51:11
Hi all, this is Rob from NLandKeys, today we would like to share with you a new keyboard project -

oitsso Bite 65 - A Sweet Gift at Your Fingertips

Introduction & Inspiration

The Bite 65 takes inspiration from cake elements, offering users a fresh tasty experience.
We plan on releasing four colors -
Strawberry Shortcake,
Pistachio Gelato,
Taro Mochi Cake,
Soy Rice Cake

Each captures the unique flavors and textures of different desserts.

Strawberry Shortcake
Inspired by Tan Yuki strawberries, with a pop of tender green leaf keycaps for contrast.

Structures

Magnetic Design

The Cream drip, cake base, and handcrafted soft clay accessories of the Bite65 all use magnetic installation,
with magnetized stainless steel and magnetic components enabling easy assembly and disassembly.

The Cream drip and cake base are both CNC machined from a solid block of aluminum.

Cake Cream drip

The magnetic Cream drip design offers the Bite 65 two distinctly different looks within the same color scheme.

Handcrafted Magnetic Polymer Clay Accessories

To better capture the dessert theme, magnetically attachable handcrafted clay accessories are custom-made for the cake base layers.
Each piece is meticulously shaped and painted by hand,
with different color schemes paired with corresponding fruits or mochi accents.

Cake Base

The two front chiffon cake pieces are made from CNC-machined aluminum alloy,
secured to the keyboard body with large magnetized stainless steel components.
In the future, we will introduce more interchangeable parts in different materials and styles.

Special Structure Design

The Bite 65 uses a PCB gasket structure.
By utilizing two silicone pads of different softness and four materials for spacers,
it offers eight distinct tactile experiences.
PC and POM provide a softer feel, FR4 adds more resilience,
and stainless steel leaf springs deliver a firmer, more rigid touch.

Removable Tray Design

The bottom features a detachable tray design, offering two different front height options.
Bottom feet slots are reserved on the base, allowing for bottom feet installation even after the tray is removed.

PCB

With a thickness of 1.2mm, both the single-mode and tri-mode versions are available in flex and non-flex options.
Both the single-mode and tri-mode versions support QMK & VIA.
The lighting colors and effects in the tri-mode version can be directly adjusted via VIA.
In testing, the 2.4G mode shows a latency of approximately 8-10ms.

Afternoon Soirée Keycaps

the oitsso x cici Handmade polymer clay keycaps.

Keycap Detail:

Profile: OSA
Material & Process: Five-sided dye-sublimated PBT
Manufacturer: WINMIX

Keycap Colors

Inspired by the same theme as the Bite 65, these keycaps are available in four refined colorways:
Strawberry Shortcake,
Pistachio Gelato,
Taro Mochi Cake,
Soy Rice Cake
adding a playful and delightful touch to every keystroke.

Keycaps Profile

The keycaps use the OSA profile, which is slightly lower than SA.
While maintaining practicality, the OSA profile also captures the delicate and refined essence of a dessert to the fullest extent.

The pricing is going to be around 300 from the pricing in the Chinese sites, I don't know with international shipping how much it will be. I do know people were complaining about the price in China since they're a new and small brand.

Thanks for sharing! I was also concerned about the price and international shipping. Hopefully they will come up with more reasonable shipping options in the future. If there is any more information about the product, please update everyone!

So I did even more digging because I've been wanting this for so long, but just accepted my fate in never being able to get it. There is another drip design with sprinkles, however it's only available if you purchase at least 4000 yuan (USD570ish). I have NO clue if it's going to be available since no info on this page about it. The drip doesn't actually come typically by itself, so for the cheapest purchasing option in Chinese group buy was about 1899 yuan (USD270ish). It is pretty crazy pricy, I honestly wish there was an option just for the case. One can only dream thou :-[

Where did you get your information from? I can read Chinese, and live in Asia, would be interested to get more info about this board. I'm actually interested in getting the R version

This is the group buy I found when I searched it up, i honestly couldn't tell you more details. However from the looks of it, the group buy has already passed.

The group buy has indeed ended, and I think it was only opened to Chinese buyers within China. I guess they will ultimately hold an international group buy, that's why this IC was created no?

Anyway I'll be passing on this board, have my eyes on some other board now. Good luck!
