Hi Everyone! I’m back, this time bringing you something a little different. Over the past few months I've been really keen on utilizing GMK’s custom,
special-effects plastics, while also incorporating a personal love of mine, Greek Mythology. After a lot of trial and error, Selene was born.

As much the idea is cool. The color choice is extremely polarizing and most likely will not go well with most keebs. Purple itself is a hard color to nail combined with special effects and the sample if anything to go by. The actual product may have extreme discrepancies with the render. GLWIC.

Hi Everyone!

First off, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has interacted with this post, messaged me personally, or filled out the IC! I realized today that I never made a post for a proper change log, so I will be adding that to the main body of the IC post so there's no doom scrolling to find updates.

Two big things I wanted to share here first:

1) I have updated the sample photos in the IC to much higher res iterations (plus a new video!) to help demonstrate the vision I see for Selene. Please note that these samples are just for reference, and the final product will use a unique special-effects plastic with purple and teal reflects that is in the same vein as these samples.

2) I am in talks with GMK currently about the best way to proceed forward with generating samples. That being said, I have been told that there should be no issues with manufacturing this, which is ultimately great news. Soon as I get more information, I will share here.

I am keeping an eye on everyone's feedback/thoughts on kitting, vendors they'd like to see, artisan makers, and so on. I am working through making a few modifications on the kits as well based on what I've heard. Will share those updates here when ready. Thank you again to everyone's feedback, it is much appreciated :)

Hello! Yes, the sample with the green and yellow reflects is a CR black base. The density will be about 10-15% less than the sample with teal and purple reflects.

Thanks so much for the callout! To be frank, I don't use UK ISO kitting myself, so I appreciate the flag. The base kit has been updated to include the missing keys mentioned :)

Ty for answering onion! Yes, that illusion is happening due to how the lighting in the render is interacting with the various GMK row profiles, not because they are different colors :)

Hi there! I was not planning on updating the renders with accents on the board at this time.

Regarding the sheen on the keycaps, that's from the lighting in the render. The final keycaps will still be abs plastic. I'm waiting on a revised sample from GMK at this time to share with everyone, and will update here when that comes in :)

If you're already offering keys like 1.5u Shift, 1.5u Supers, basic 40s and both types of ISO support, please also consider including R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn for 65%/75% support in base, or shifting some of the aforementioned keys to the extensions kit (consider how popular each of those is; I especially don't think you need both ISO-UK and terminal ISO in base).

Otherwise, I really like the idea behind this set, and I'd be interested in picking one up.

Hey All,

Wow, it has been QUITE some time since I have last posted and hope that you are all doing well. I just wanted to give an update to everyone regarding this IC and reassure everyone that this project is not dead in the water and is still actively being worked on.

First off, thank you everyone for your patience with my absence, and sincerest apologies that I haven't updated here in months. Unfortunately I had a few medical/personal emergencies that happened outside of the keyboard space and I had to shift my priorities elsewhere for a bit. Now that things have settled down, I can post more frequently here with updates as they come in.

Second, I have been in the thick of sampling for many, many months now and there has been extensive back and forth conversations about dialing in the overall look/making sure the materials are meeting expectations, and I can confidently say the finish line is in sight! There are still some minor tweaks that I'd like to make before giving the final sign off on the samples, but I promise the results will absolutely be worth it.

Hi Everyone! I'm back once again just as we're heading into the end of 2025. Once again, apologies all for such a delayed update. More medical/personal emergencies came up about a week after my initial post here, but I'm okay now!

Big update for those that are still following this set - samples have officially been approved! I have updated the IC link here with white balanced photos of the approved samples in both direct sunlight and in the shade. Please note, how the images look will vary depending on what device you are looking at the samples on. I white balanced these photos on a color accurate monitor, so your viewing mileage may vary.

That being said, I'm planning on taking more photos of the samples in other lighting conditions, however I am currently traveling out of town for work/the holidays so I'm hoping to have those in a few weeks' time.

In addition, we have one more vendor joining the list for those in the JP market, which is super exciting!

I’d appreciate it if you could consider changing the European vendor. Keygem has been acting pretty shady lately. They ran a group buy for multiple Neo boards earlier this year, and QK recently revealed that they haven’t even submitted the order yet. They keep ignoring customers who ask about the Neo boards, but they still reply to unrelated questions. Some customers have also reported that their refund requests for those keyboards have been ignored for over a week
Also, the +84 TKL recently switched from Keygem to Monacokeys because customers requested it.

Hi there! Num 0 is the same color as the base kit, not the mods. 2U shift I wasn't planning on adding unless there's serious demand for it, so please use the IC to help me keep track and see if there are others who are looking for it :) Thank you!

Idk if this has been brought up but the BAE legend is wrong. I had GMK make a new Icon BAE mould for GMK BAE Addons.
