Title: Replace USB-C connector on a Keychron V1C3
Post by: n43j on Sun, 10 November 2024, 13:47:51
The USB-C connector on my keyboard was damaged by and the cable now does not lock/hold at all.

I will try to replace it but I do not know which replacement part to order (there is no legible marking).

A friend of mine should be able to solder the new connector, but there is a huge variety of models available and I am a bit lost.

Can someone help me with finding the correct part?

I mean, it’s a USB-C port. I think it’s more important to find out what kind of mounting it has and look for a good replacement. The pins just need to match.

very important to check which signals the receptacle supports. check your pcb, but i assume you would want a 16 pin receptacle like this one:

Is it a V1, a C3, or something else?  Might be worth considering a warranty replacement if that's an option, or at least emailing Keychron to see what spare part might work. If nothing else, taking some pics of the broken connector and PCB could be helpful.
