Have you guys ever encountered this.
USB 3.0 to Sata adapters don't work on the motherboard's native usb3 ports, they will transfer a bit of data then hang and stop working.
But if I plug it into a separate usb3.0 hub, it works fine. The adapter has its own power supply so it's not a voltage issue.

I had one do this.
It was ESATA and USB and when it connected to the USB for power it would override the ESATA connection and cause it to have problems. It needed an external power to get the ESATA to work properly. I wouldn't be surprised if it's drawing too much power from the port even with the power adapter.
Probably not the same issue, but USB is a VERY, VERY loose specification.
