Can you buy a JAPANESE VERSION HHKB PRO 2 and outfit it the

US KEYTOP SET FOR HAPPY HACKING KEYBOARD PRO 2

or do you have to buy the US version?

All HHKB Professional 2 (if I am not wrong) comes with english letters only. Only the HHKB Professional 2 JP comes with japanese characters on the keys.

right, so if I buy a HHKB PRO 2 JP and want to switch to the US layout, can I just buy the keys itself or I can't do it at all?

The Japanese layout doesn't have all the same form caps. I'm quite sure you can't replace the Return key, for example.

Personally, I'd just leave the caps as is and select whatever layout you like in the OS.
