Title: Hello GH
Post by: Kanzie on Tue, 25 March 2025, 19:48:19
Hello GH, I just joined your community. I've always been interested in keyboards, but I've never modded or built one myself. I also don’t have any experience with PCBs or similar topics. However, I’m an electrical and electronics engineer (I graduated five years ago and haven’t worked in any job; I currently make a living as a software developer).

In the past, I worked on small projects with Arduino, and during university, I took courses on PIC programming (16F877A), field theory, and similar subjects.

Let’s see where this new adventure takes me. I want to build a hotswappable keyboard with magnetic switches. I’ve set a high goal, but I know almost nothing...

I’ll progress step by step and see where I stand in 3-4 months. Thanks, everyone!

Welcome to GH! Sounds like you’ve got a great technical background, which will definitely help as you dive into the keyboard world. A hotswap keyboard with magnetic switches is an ambitious and exciting project — there’s plenty to learn, but also tons of resources and helpful folks here. Take it one step at a time, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
