Introduction
Hello everyone! This is Audrey from Oddikeys Studio here to reveal a aluminum keyboard I designed with the help of a few lovely friends. We have a fierce love for keyboards and we wanted to provide a split design that caters to those who prefer more feminine designs for their boards.
Design
As you may remember from playing with shapes as a baby, fitting a rectangle into a circle isn't an easy task so please note this keyboard is a hecking chonker on the cat chonky size scale.
Overall, we feel the keyboard feels quite comfortable to type on despite its unique shape but we couldn't resist designing a wrist rest in the shape of a collar to provide an ever better typing experience.
We decided to make the cat ear pieces attachable via magnets so you can easily remove and swap out the ear pieces with other colors. The badges featured in the wrist rest (heart and bell icon) are also easily removable.
The badge on the left keyboard features a skeleton fish design while the badge of the right keyboard features a cat paw. Both will allow RBG to pass through.
Since the keyboard is quite heavy as it is, we didn't feel the need to add a heavy back weight, instead the backplate will feature a design of a cat's face made up of smaller components.
