GMK CYL Vintage Keys

Hello old timers,
This is an interest check for add-on kits featuring some cool keycaps from vintage keyboards.
My goal is to bring these vintage keycaps to those who want to add a bit of personality to their board.
You can put them on Hineybeige, Classic Beige, Dolch R5, WOB, and etc. I hope you guys like it!

Legends: Doubleshot & UV print
Colors: CC, CR, CP, L9, N7, N9, P3, U9, V1, V2 & WS1

Molds/Moulds
Just like GMK Beige Addon & Extension, another goal of mine for this project is to help develop new
keycap tooling for the community - particularly older stuffs like 10u spacebars and stepped bottom rows.
All new molds or tooling made through this project will be open for the community to use.

I talked with GMK about 10U spacebar, and they mentioned that the new tooling would cost somewhere in the five-figure range.
However, based on my experience with the BAE mold, GMK is willing to cover 50% of the cost if it is made publicly available to use.
If there's a good enough amount of interest, I maybe able to work something out with them to lower the cost.

also consider adding full R5 capslocks in the vintage bottom kit if it doesn’t blow prices up too much

What is the purpose of R1 Esc in 2000's kitting ? Don't we already have that in whatever base we are combining ?

Great that the 2000 kit has the old style logo in a single colour for the windowed keys, not been done before at gmk.  :cool:

Absolutely loving the retro look of GMK CYL Vintage Keys, I’m all in! I’d seriously want to pick up every single kit.
Huge shoutout to mcmcmc for the effort and passion you're putting into this project and the community.

One small thing I personally miss is a System key, or even better, a Super key. I totally get that it doesn’t quite fit the retro aesthetic, but I’d still be super happy if it ended up being included somehow.

Either way, I’m definitely buying the kits!

If you planned bottom row's stepped caps lock, so AT-style numpad +-* also needed

super keys are very easy to find like in Hineybeige or Retro Zhuyin. i don't think it's worth including it. :)

there aren't that many NCR colored set out there (especially when compared to beige, wob, dolch) unfortunately so i wont be adding it. :thumb:

vintage bottom --> vintage banana : because im hungry :p
removed prtsc, scroll, break & replaced with R2 insert home and R3 del end to replicate the OG

You’ve got the stock colors listed nicely. I think v1 red has less matching sets than RO2 (metaverse demonic lunar beta essentials red honey). Could be RO2 instead?

Fair point on the 1.5u Super keys, I’ve already got a few myself. But a stepped Super to match the stepped Alt/Ctrl in the kit? That would totally seal the deal for me. Would love to see it, but I’m in either way!

If this runs count me in for one of each kit! Love this ideal & would really love some GMK 10u spacebars. The DCS ones I have sound off when used with GMK IMHO.

there are two red used for this - P3 & V1. P3 is used in snack pack, so it matches dolch, red alert, wob red cyrillic, handerbeit, etc. i aim for the more popular classic sets. V1 is used in 2000's to match the OG 2000 (it has a little orange tint in pictures i found, so i think it matches p good.)

not many people have use for it imo. unlike s row that you can put it on your f row and it won't look weird.

yep, of course in case the mold exists already and it doesn't add like $10 per kit. I think it would look perfect on classic sets like wob with non stepped bottom mods.

thanks again for everyone feedback. there were many good suggestions, but sadly i can't add everything.
i'm aiming for Q3 gb date. however, that may change depending on a many factors.
