Title: [IC] DCS Cyan Alert- The Split [CANCELLED-Maybe GMK in late 2026 /2027]

In the span of a single week, I received two conflicting emails from Melissa.
The first stated that DCS Cyan Alert would have no MOQ and  SP being lead since the beginning of this project, which was great news.
In about 2/3 days , I received a second email stating that SP will no longer sell anything directly on their website and that standard volume pricing (MOQs) would now apply. Projects from other designers have also been affected.

This decision effectively kills the project.
DCS sets struggle to reach 200 MOQ even with a single base kit. For a project of this scope and complexity to succeed, it would require a complete kitting overhaul and a level of risk I am unwilling to take.

As a result, I am officially cancelling DCS Cyan Alert and ceasing all future collaborations with Signature Plastics.

My time is valuable. I have spent a lot of time on this set. I already have other projects with manufacturers that would offer higher yields, consistent terms and most importantly do not make split-second, project-killing decisions.

What happens next?
1)DCS Dolch will be my final project involving Signature Plastics. It never involved them as a vendor and I will be finishing that commitment.

2)If there is enough demand, I may consider moving the Cyan Alert to GMK in the future.

I refuse to waste any more time on a partner that does not respect the development process or the reality of the 2026 market.

Love the theme and colors – especially Dark, but Beige is excellent too.

I’d be very interested in:
– an International Kit
– the Extension Kit
– and definitely the Novelties Kit – they would round out the set perfectly!

Hope these get included – would 100% join the GB with those options.

Idk why all images are small, pls click on them or the full album. Tried postimages for the first time.

maybe its done automatically because you put them beside each other, but you should be able to change it by changing the values that i marked with yellow, when you go to edit the post.

Reserved for updates
Idk why all images are small, pls click on them or the full album. Tried postimages for the first time.

Two things I learned soon after I started using postimage:

1) make sure it is set to "Do not resize my image" when you upload. Probably you're already doing this.

2) By default, the link is to a lower res version of your image, even when you do 1). But their FAQ explains you can click on the image to zoom in until the magnifying glass contains a minus sign (or there is no magnifying glass), then right click on it and pick "copy image address" to get a link to the full size image. It took me a few weeks to figure this out.

ALSO: in Geekhack, do just the {img}link{/img} without the {url} part. That way it doesn't send you to postimage when you click on the pic. And on a PC you can just arrow back and forth between images.

I like the Dark kit quite a bit but no non-alert numrow is a complete deal breaker for me

i like cyan, wish this was more like gmk cyan as we haven't seen a run of that in a trillion years + gorton legends goated. dark base reminds me a lot of gmk electric with the symbol/alert row. glwic!

The Light & Dark Kits are instant buys for me. Glad to see the 10u Spacebar becoming a common inclusion in DCS kits too

That was a geekhack issue, it compressed everything. Took ages to fix since it kept giving me an error when I tried to update the IC. Great job Drop! :)

Some 40s thoughts:
* you're missing the r3 1.5u enter that's needed with 1.75u r2 backspace.
* I'd add an accented 1u r2 delete, that can be used on a few layouts (12u / 13u / 13.5u left side big mods / 14u big mods).
* that 1.5u r4 shift goes with boards that are X.25u wide (qaz for example). Without a 1.25u r2 backspace that shift is useless, so either add the backspace or take the shift out.
* bars-wise, the 1.75u and 1.5u either need to be doubled or taken out. By themselves they serve (almost) no use.

It's not a tombstone, it's a klaxon that's going to be remade

I think the keyboard renders are not representative of the product and are not appropriate because of the lighting. Everything is quite dark and do not allow to see the colors of the kit.
Luckily you've done kit renders as well but I think it would be worth reworking the others :)
GLWIC !

I hope better board renders can be shown to clearly show off the different set variations rather than what you have now.

Apart from that, light and dark miku alert are definitely noteworthy. Do not care for the beige version. In terms of kitting, there should be a cyan 'Pause' key to fit G80-1800 layout boards.

I like the dark version of this kit. I hope that it's available when the group buy eventually happens :D

Something I'd like to see if there's enough support for the non-alert numrow is to add an accent colored enter key.

P.S. I'd love to hear more from you about how you did the kitting renders, I'm personally doing a rerun of DSS LightCycle with Trash Man's blessing, and I'm a complete noob with no previous background in Blender :P

What they said, but please double and not take out the 1.75u/1.5u bars, and add double 1.25us too

Non-accented R2 esc and 1u backspace in the 40s kit would be nice. Seems weird to force accents/alert row for certain layouts.
I'm guessing the 1u backspace/pipe key in the regular mod kit is misplaced and is actually R1 like accented ones are which would also make the pipe key redundant as it's already in the alphas kit.
The 1.75u shift in the 40s kit seems redundant as well, not sure if this is intentional.
Could potentially add a 2u shift to the regular mod kit.
Also, some of the row numbers are labeled incorrectly in the regular mod kits.
