We have a sealed-bid IT auction coming up at work. There are a few 17" LCD monitors going, along with an Acer 19" widescreen. I don't need them, but if I could put one or two to good use if I got them (wouldn't mind replacing the wavy 14" CRT connected to my server, likewise for my grandma).
What would you say is a reasonable price? £15 a shot for the 17"? They're not Dell/Samsung/LG but quality seems to be ok.

Check eBay.

Your really better off just buying a new monitor.
Sure they are gonna be TN panels but in most cases they are far cheaper and offer a better return policy than a used one. Plus you can get larger size and larger resolution than the ones offered providing a better real estate.
But the price of someone selling a used one in many cases, you could spend a little more and get a better monitor either at retail stores or online stores.

I got a few old 19" flat panels for free from work because they had minor scratches.
