Title: Cherry Browns. Cheapest option?
Post by: elservo on Sun, 07 November 2010, 02:19:06
Curious about the cherry brown switches.  What is the cheapest option out there?  The addiction to mech boards is at its highest level now, I want to sneak cherry browns into the house.  What's the lowest priced board available?

jused you could score ebay compaq mx11800 or so for 30-40, i've gotten a non working nib g80 for 26bucks and a used g80 for 35bucks (dont' know if it works already took it apart, but assuming it did). So if you ebay for a bit 40bucks could get you some kind of used cherry board.

Definitely the MX11800 as far as cheapest goes, but the layout is kind of odd. Personally I'm looking into picking up a Das-Silent-Ultimate the-blank-one-with-MX-Browns keyboard thing. With the student discount, it's a bit cheaper than a Filco, but the price is still much higher than the MX11800.

MX-11800 is a nice introduction to brown switches. At least then you'd know whether you want to spend $100+ on a Filco.
