Title: Keymouse "blue slider"

For a board about which I have no idea how exclusive it is, the price is a bit steep, so... convince me to buy this I guess .

Seems a bit on the high side to be although perhaps not outrageously so considering what these type often go for.  Guessing it has blue ALPS.  Probably comparable to my Northgate Ultra and one similar one to mine just sold for about total $30 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320614356993).

My guess is it's a Chicony rebranded and has Blue Montereys.  The seller is ScarryGarcia and would say Blue ALPS if it had them, at least I think he would.  But even if it is a Chicony, it could have ANY switch in it except buckling springs.

Blue ALPS are really nice, for what it's worth.

Maybe, but the only boards I could find with a FCC ID of HQK2VHKEYMOUSE seemed to be white ALPS.  Probably best to ask the seller.

This looks like my DTK SPK-102a which has blue ALPS.

But after looking at mine, it might not, as mine does not have the pen grove above the F keys, apart from that reading the blurb its the same sounding.

Someone described them as crunchy, and I have to agree. Nice crunchy.

Yeah, In know that from a factual point of view they are identical to white alps.

But we all know blue switches are better.

Well, if it does have blue alps, I'd definitely snatch it up.  Just be sure you know what you're getting if when you're spending that kind of money.  For the record, blue is my favorite type of alps for typing.  It beats the crap out of white alps.

They can have different springs and leafs at a minimum.

These are both from pre-1990.  Blue were from an early Leading Edge DC-2014 and White were from 1989 Northgate 102 Metal Gold Label.  The tactile bump feels very different between the two, but both of these are the creme de la creme of complicated ALPS.  Some later ones were heavier than these which both come in at 62g.  But the blues feel faster and generally slightly better to me and most agree.  Fukkas are also very smooth and close to Blues and early good whites but louder.

EDIT:  What's interesting is I noticed Ripsters Blues above have a leaf like my White one does, but have a spring like my blue ones.  I'm positive I didn't mix them up, I was very careful.  I should have pulled some later complicated whites for comparison.
