Introduction
Hi everyone! We are EMPTY TECHNOLOGY, a small technology company based in US and JP.
We have built the EMPTY TYPE-75, a magnetic modular keyboard. We partnered with Keyreative and
the vendors listed above to deliver a one-of-a-kind typing experience to you.
We have built this keyboard to be a colorful addition to your desk and to your productivity.
The EMPTY TYPE can be paired with modules based around your daily routine and demands (images below)
The Design
The design of the keyboard was inspired by the colorful nature of video games like Splatoon
and Jet Set Radio. Aspects such as the plateaued keycap design paired with the dots design,
the rear panel, and magnetic feet, all carry this colorful nature. We've always felt like modern technology
veers towards the safer side of aesthetics, life is much more enjoyable with colors in it.
The Engineering
The engineering was based around our desires to make the EMPTY TYPE a keyboard system
rather than a sole keyboard. As a result we built many conceptual magnetic modules and
accessories (images below). We especially like the satisfying *click* sounds and feel of all the
magnetic features. This magnetic integration required careful engineering and implementation
to ensure all parts work cohesively.
