Ok, soooo, it's got,
Zen4 architec, 6 Core
16GB ram ddr5,
1660ti lvl performance = 3050, 8 GB vram,
The CPU is competent, shouldn't have trouble with spraying frames on dota.
The GPU, is kind of just hrrrrmmm... OLD.
This is a solid 1080p60hz machine if you reallllly stretch it on the newer games.
IT WILL HAVE FSR4.1, how well will it work on this gpu though, is another thing.
This is not accounting for potential OVERCLOCKING, +13% easy.
EXTREMEEME overclocking also be possible for, +18-20%, Hard., Might cost +$50 in parts.
But PRICE, Realistically, how much would you pay for something like this. This is approximately a $200 machine in oem parts, $400 machine in diy-RETAIL-parts by today's standards absent "Politically driven Economic Problems".
If we give assign value to the engineering and specialized software (steamlinux), Then let's call it +$100.
If they sell this for $600-650, worth it,
If they sell this for $750+, you're better off DIY.
$800+, just cancel it.

So... It seems the projections were all correct.
Pricing is indeed too high. $1050 for base model, no controller.
With that.
With controller and 2tb storage, it's $1500.
So, yea, you can easily build an AM5 9070xt pc which will be 4x as fast for the same amount of money.
The scaling just doesn't make sense.
Even with $1000, you can fit a used 7900xt or something in there + am4, which will only be 3x as fast.
The steam machine really shouldn't be released at all.
Also this news about them sending at random units with single 16gb sticks, and dual 8gb sticks. That's not ok.
You have to "wonder" which version you'd get, it's either a $350 upgrade or a $175 upgrade. That's unacceptable really.
In parts this is a $350-450 machine. It's got very old parts.

I just watched a video about an Intel-powered competitor to the Steam Deck. $1700 - $1800 ...

It's a really powerful hand-held CHIP.
That said, $1800, a bit of a head scratcher. LOLOL.
In america, you show up outdoors playing one of these, some criminal will knock you over the head and steal it.
