If they were Cherry Double Shot clones (thickness, profile and font) I'd be happy. Harvesting off of POS keyboards is a PITA and used ones tend to be shiny and well used.
Futura italic. Sort of.
That dude needs a DataVac.
At this point almost all of our legends (characters) are run in an Arial type font. We have had requests from several companies for the font on the Filco keyboards (I am told this is a modified narrow italicized gothic Futura font of some sort [em. mine]). We are working on having this available, however without any immediate requests, it has been put on the back burner. To give you a bit of understanding: to create a custom font, we have to have a 'line font' or image that is then cut onto a 4"x4" piece of plexi (using our Roland CNC Engraver which has a limited font selection). This 4x4 plexi this then used to engrave the image onto a smaller 1"x1" piece of brass. The brass is what is used to create the legends in the first shot. As you can imagine this is a bit of a time consuming process, especially for 103 various legends. While we can offer different fonts (which I unfortunately don't have a list of), if it isn't something we anticipate using the future, there may be an additional charge, depending on the font. Did you have any particular fonts in mind? (my apologies for the rambling - if you were to go the Filco type font, there would not be an extra charge).
I would love all the keys in this photo from the original thread:

The same colours and the same font.
The only change I'd make is dropping the Windows key (Macs only here)
Is shipping to Canada an issue?
Thanks for taking the initiative.
I just asked about that alternate font last week. It's on the back burner until January. If it's me organizing it, I'm not planning on doing this until the new year, so this could still work out.
I'm really fond of the "if you were to go the Filco type font, there would not be an extra charge" part. Although the rest of it makes me a little more pessimistic about having any kind of custom art. I'm still kinda hung up on having a trollface guy key.
I don't think that you're going to see a repeat of the last set anytime soon...most people who wanted them ordered them on the last order :p
Yes. Alps people can go do their own damn set.
Another reason to be annoyed that I missed the first order. Such a good looking set.
Another reason to be annoyed that I missed the first order. Such a good looking set.
If I do sell my second set, it'd be at WhiteRice's original price and shipping (I wouldn't be looking to make a profit; at cost, plus just want enough money for Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping).
Some possible ideas (maybe not all are feasible):
- Alternate control/caps lock as last time
- Different color scheme from last time (two tone blue or green? all black?)
- Novelty OS keys (something cooler than diamonds)
- Game specific icon keys
- I18N booster pack like last time
- Italic font similar to stock Filco (Signature said something about having this in the new year)
I'd say that the last order was a nice, safe color choice. I'd like to see something more exotic this time around, like a set in green or a checkerboard pattern.Yes, any color they have in stock. Which is lot.
By the way, how customizable is the doubleshot color (the color of the legends)? Can we do something besides black and white for them?
If you do the trollface key, I'd definitely be in for one or two of those.
If there is a trollface key, it should be trollface on every key of the entire set. Trolltaku. Otaku roll?
What about those of us with Topre boards? I'll grant you the alps bit, though. Those a royal PITA to deal with.
I am not familiar with international layouts, so if somebody has a suggestion on how to make the international booster pack more functional, I'm all ears.
Back in march the Signature Plastics prices for single keys (note that the definition of a single key is any key outside of the standard 104 key set that we are ordering), were as following:
50 keys $ 2.43 / each
100 keys $ 1.41 / each
For legends they do not have you have to pay an additional $20 tooling setup. There is no possibility to order less than 50 keys. Keep in mind, this is PER key and PER legend.
So to even get a SINGLE french key you would already be paying $141.50, for the lowest order of 50 keys. Now multiply this times the number of keys that change in the French layout.
Yeah, unless you find a bunch of fifty desperate frenchmen, I agree that this will stay a dream.
I would love a set that are black with green letters in a monospace font. Just like all the old green screen terminals. Although I would be willing to give up the font, black keys with green letters would be really cool.
I would also love to replace my windows key with something a bit more interesting as I use both Mac and linux machines.

I would love to get some keys that were special colors for vim home row keys as well.
hjkl -> green with black letters and the rest black with green letters.
That green monster would make a good win-key replacement.
This scheme would fit me much better than this WASD-nonsense. Would be more UNIX-like.
OK, it's settled:
Green on black with green-monster modifier keys for the bottom row.
I'm in for 2 sets :-)
An otaku with just a trollface for the Esc key would be epic.
Let's just say you'd be able to buy quite a few Signature sets for one full ClickClack set.
I second the Colemak set but I would just be as happy for a standard Filco set - just like last time.
How was it possible that I missed the last one.. the Dolch colour scheme and the bigass centered typewrinter font is so pretty - for me.
Definitely in for one, whichever way it goes.. no pink, green, purple or yellow is my only request.
would be great to have some additional keys for the current set in the same color scheme.
OK, go ahead!
Italic sucks for keyboard-labeling. It makes the whole thing asymmetric.
Blood red keycaps for the alphabetic keys?
Not interested in a set-- one $50 plus set per year is my budget limit-- but how about, instead of Cherry, go for fits-on-two-piece-IBM stems?
imma interested in DOLCH like the first order... too bad i couldn't get a setDitto. I'd definitely be interested in the same lettering. Not too picky about the extras.
Or maybe IBM 'Think' style keys with gray function/cluster keys, and colored Enter keys?Show Image(http://imgur.com/VZZdO.jpg)
For those who keep asking about Topre keys from Signature Plastics... the tooling setup for a run of Topre keys is US$ 80000, I am serious.

What's cool is two-tone red-- my poor work board has been so dyed-- gets lots of attention.
Though apparently the color in between the blocks is important too...

This is where those colored plates become useful...
OK, I'll volunteer a color scheme. The layout would be the same as the Dolch set, but instead of black and gray, it would be vivd blue. Ultramarine for the darker keys, and a shade lighter for the character keys. Legends would be white.Show Image(http://oi51.tinypic.com/fw7kwp.jpg)

If it's in January, I'm interested in a set.
I want thick keycaps, sorta like this :PShow Image(http://lh5.ggpht.com/_6WOoTO_7VuQ/TJ0yyRmm24I/AAAAAAAACNc/ZWF4bpBOy28/s800/2010-09-24%2018.50.20.jpg).
If somebody wants a very bright colour scheme combination you always can think in Green Keys like on this Topre or maybe Yellow too:
Lavender like the Filco set or Red are too common I think. Anyway what about Blue and not Lavender or we just can think about Bright Pink LOL
here i saw some nice ideas for colours: http://www.synctronics.com/case_studies.html
PD: I'm new at GEEKHACK and since I started reading here I'm only thinking on getting new keycaps and keyboards -.- (Where can ? say welcome to all? Is there an exclusive thread or something like that?)
Not interested. If I can't get Swedish legends, then that would be no different to me from having a "otaku" keyboard without legends.
... And I have already got a real Dolch.
I might be interested in coloured "otaku"/legendless keycaps though.
I wondering if it won't be possible to get a 50+ person consensus on a wild colored set. Would everyone prefer just a black set of double-shots with some extra keys?
I think I would prefer a Black set more so. Black on Black like the Ducky keycaps, with some colors for certain keys.
Orange looks strong don't you think? It's geekhack's colour.Show Image(http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn27/CoB_Twitchy/GH/OrangeOtaku.png)

I'd love a set of 104-ish DOLCH color that would be profiled correctly for the mx-11900. I took the set off my actual DOLCH board, and they're far too loose for the stems of the later brown cherry switches. My escape key shoots off like a Pog whenever I hit it off-center.
That's actually really sharp looking. Ok, so maybe you'd want to stick to just one color, but why must every keyboard be limited to white or black lettering?
I'd be interested in a set of custom colored blanks for sure. The international booster pack might not get me all the legends so blanks might be a better option for me.
All three of those look pretty cool imo.
I agree. If the special keys were the inverted colour scheme, that would look great.
Can anyone with better photoshop skills than me, invert the WASD keys?
Welcome to Geekhack!
We thrive on disagreeing with each other.
How about purple? Blue is nice but maybe something a little more adventurous?
I don't remember getting a choice there.
I like polls - what's a CSV?
Damfino. I'm using a Harbor Freight Tools $20 special. Centech I believe. Works well enough for my needs.
at the end pages of some magazines (maxum, pop sci) there is usually a harbor freight coupon page and usually the digital caliper is 8bucks w/ coupon (or 10?)
We are a bit limited on the detail with the 2-shot process as there has to be adequate room for material to flow on the keycap. The general rule is if there are gaps or 'islands' on a character, the space must be at least 0.008".
Well, I suppose if they were roughly the same size/location as the Filco keys I'd be ok with that. I'd just rather not have the giant retro look going on.
I'd be down for blanks too, just black blanks :P
Well, I guess whatever goes well with majestouch, the orange was too much for me.
I have inquired about prices/options on blanks. I'm certain they'll be much cheaper than custom-manufactured double-shots anyhow. But no reason it couldn't be part of one big order to get the maximum possible price-break. And I have gotten kinda excited about purple or blue legends on black keys.
I'd be very interested in just how cheap sets of blanks would be, or what kind of minimum order it'd take... I'd love a bright pink set, but I know it's something that not many people would be interested in, so it's probably nothing I'll ever have. Maybe if the minimum order is small enough I can drum up some other interest in em... :P
Do two piece blank-likes - shell and a small frame on top in one colour, the rest of the top surface in other colour.
I assume that two piece blanks like this would need tooling, unless they've produced them before?
As far as I know, they don't do two-piece blanks, and I'm not sure what the benefit would be...
Just a setup for a single keycap.
The "blank" is as to lack of information from the legend, normal two-piece otherwise. It could be just a large rounded square or other figure.
Benefit - single tooling setup, Otaku style, your favourite legend all over the keyboard. Suppose you do a set of say 6 colours, 30 pieces each - then one can arrange his/her own rainbow Feng Shui.
Black caps, perhaps not with the usual white letters, maybe dark gray or red ones?
Also, I'd like to see some media/control/command caps... (http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:5905)
You're going to have to use more words or a picture or something. I don't even know what you mean by a two-piece keycap, or if signature can even make them.I think it was better described earlier in the thread.
Do two piece blank-likes - shell and a small frame on top in one colour, the rest of the top surface in other colour. Make few different selections for the "other" colour, i.e. the outer shell colour stays the same. That should satisfy the rainbow mania, be Otakuish, and be on the cheap side.I personally prefer one colour blanks but I'm enjoying the discussion.
EDIT: This way, the legend will be rounded rectangle, filling most of the keycap top. Try experimenting with other ideas, like centered circle, Ying-Yang, etc.
I'm a big fan of the blue on black someone posted earlier, but the two above this post look great as well.

You absolutely love blues on black.
More like this:
Only thing I've seen thus far that I'd give serious thought to purchasing would be the blue on black. Not a fan of the purple to blue fade either.
fwiffo, I read the reply from a couple pages back from Melissa @ SP. So is the trollface not feasible? I'm really ****ty with understanding dimensions in general...

If the entire set was blank then the international booster keys wouldn't stand out. Throw in a geekhack key and something like a novelty meta key... I'd be in. Having said that, it doesn't have to be this time, I'm sure that there will be a geekhack otaku set at some point so I can wait.
edit: @bakageta. Oooh nice! Not sure about black and green though, makes it look like an xbox peripheral.

erm.. The thickness of the key cap will affect your typing speed?
i don't know why people whine about the thickness of SP key caps.
what so big deal about it?
Although the texture of brand new keys is nice, my NIB Cherry Doubleshots got shiny in a year - ABS plastic is not all that tough.
I have confirmed with signature that there is only one choice of font (italic/futura is a no-go), but there are options for size and location. Since we did big, centered, retro style last time, I plan to go for a more modern placement this time - that is, smaller and in the upper left corner of the key. So the font size and placement would be similar to Filco, but it wouldn't be the fancy italic font.
There is no way besides building new tooling to increase the thickness of the keycaps. Other families of our keycaps, specifically the SA, have
thicker side wall.

If this is the set I would buy it. This is beautiful.
So we could go with a different family, but it would be less of a match with what people are familiar with. You can look at the keycap families (http://keycapsdirect.com/key-caps.php) to get an idea of what we're talking about here. The closest match for something like a Filco is the DCS family, which has a cylindrical top. It is a bit lower-profile than stock Filco keycaps. The SA family has thicker side-walls, but has a spherical top and a higher profile, which is a more retro look and might not be as nice a match. Both are available with Cherry MX keystems, in a variety of shapes and sizes.

I don't think that scheme has been decided on at all...
I still vote for the blue scheme above, although I agree with some of the other posters that different colored WASD should be optional, or an included booster pack.
It's not yet decided if we'll do a trollface key or awesomeface key. It might come up to a vote. Not sure if we're doing it for the Esc key or the OS keys. I'll have to do some adjustment to the art on both to make them double-shot compatible, and I'll have some sort of preview for that available at some point in the future.I have no better way to put this than I think that there should be a geekhack ESC key in every set ever, to tie them all together, the geekhack signature key.
Double-shots can only have one color in the legend. Multi-colored legends require pad-printing or dye sub.
I saw a triple shot key once. It was weird.
I think black, grey, white are good colors (the dolche scheme was pretty good).

I like the look of that, but the yellow Awesome just doesn't match well enough for me.
It seems that if we're to get a set with awesome face (if awesome face has to be yellow), then awesome face should be used in a keyset theme that has yellow as an integral part.
I like the look of that, but the yellow Awesome just doesn't match well enough for me. Any chance of getting another set of meta keys as well, either diamonds or windows keys?

'Stupid Signature'...
So, YOU have a factory that only produces geek-worthy DS key-caps ?
Maybe it's YOU who purchased the Cherry-machine ??
I would like to buy 25 sets for 1 buck per set ...
Think the awesome face loses something when it has to be reduced to two colors. You are right though I think that the lack of colours is less noticable when shrunk to keycap size.
The lower right quadrant Awesome is my favorite.I agree with you on the basis of a single key but I'm not sure I'd like a whole keyboard of yellow legend on black keys. I think that the black legend on the left works better but I know there aren't gonig to be many takers for a yellow keyset. Personally, if a certain keyboard is still in stock come Friday morning, I'll have all the yellow keys I want!
I'd go for a look of disapproval key. Easy enough.
It'd also be a good way to attract redditors which would likely increase interest in a group buy. Especially since the first person to get the set would be able to karma **** by post a picture of the keycap on reddit.
Still also like the trollface. Think the awesome face loses something when it has to be reduced to two colors.
Yeah, I'm calling them stupid for wasting all that time on Pimpmykeyboard.com.
What a disaster of a website, a business model, and execution.
There's no reason they couldn't produce nice thick Cherry Corp clones with a little thought. Or at least drive a decent novelty key business.
Ignoring the fact that the only people willing to pay what it costs seems to be us and the Korean GeekHaks ?
And the 80K tooling cost.. PR CAP !!
Maybe 'Pimpmykeyboard.com' was set up to test if there was a sound business in custom-caps for 'ordinary' consumers ?
Apparently there isn't ..
I'd be tempted by this -Show Image(http://imgur.com/D9pOH.png)
I really like that set too, but signature doesn't have any colors close to those. Actually, there is a light blue that's similar to the WASD colors, but the other bluish-grays don't exist.

Top row - legend only
Bottom row - legend and background
Did you manage to take a picture of the color samples, or are the ones posted earlier the same?
And I think this $80K tooling cost being thrown around is a Signature smokescreen.
I'm actually getting close to saying "**** it" on the complete double-shot set. I'm not confident any more about getting a combination of colors and features that appeal to 50 people. There is one color scheme proposed that everyone likes, but the colors are not actually available.
I might fall back on just doing a run of a special key, like awesomeface or trollface.
Haven't we already had this discussion? The thicker keys are SA family, which is a spherical top instead of cylindrical top. We could do SA keys instead of DCS, but I got the impression most people wanted key profiles similar to what is on Filco keyboards.
Or is there some other particular property you're looking for?

They have one called PedoBear but you can only use it on 12chan.
I still stand by my original post about using PedoBear for a keycap. :)Show Image(http://houseofgrafix.net/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/0c225f494634fec697e91860979c59b2.jpg)

hi, to those who need to see the color,
since fwiffo don't have his camera right now.

You can make the keycaps clear?
That could bring some wicked combinations on double-shot keys.
Black with clear lettering would be awesome for backlit boards, and clear keys with black/color legends would be plain crazy.
Thanks fssbzz! That's a huge help.

Is it just me, or is there a taser in this picture?
Som of the darker tiles in fssbzz's picture look darker on one end than the other. Are there two finishes on each tile?
Half of the plastic plate is roughed up (like the top of a keycap) while the other half is untampered (like the sides of a keycap).
Wow, they have some unfortunate color codes in there. VAG? Seriously?
Anyhow, word search aside, a nice blue legend on a black key would get my vote. Say, BFR or BO. See? BO! who picked these names? You know the SP office is just waiting for the day when someone orders up double shot keys that have a VAG legend in a BED keycap.

In person, VAG looks worse than it does in pictures.

Nice mock ups. I think the green looks best, but mostly because it's made entirely out of green. The yellow thrown in with the two oranges is distracting, likewise with the lavender paired up with the two blues. Are there any other nice oranges and blues that could be used on WASD?
I'm not quite sure why many gamers use wasd. your pinky is your weakest finger, so if you use the other 3, you're shifting your entire hand left one key on the home row. why not use esdf and leave your fingers on the home row where you learned to type anyway? so for me, if you do a set of gaming keys, i'd much rather have just the arrows on the keys so i can put them on esdf. as far as colors go, im fine with anything contemporary, nothing i'd find on a shag carpet from the 70's.

I prefer where the ctrl sits under my pinky with WASD, as I've found my pinky is a bit shorter ratio wise compared to most people's. Which kind of explains why I never use them when I type really.
Me too! My pinky is also disproportionately short (because I spent so much time as a kid writing and drawing, and apparently I am heavy handed so it smushed my pinky into midgetism). Finally, someone else with a short pinky!
My vote would go for the arrows, so people can use either WASD or ESDF depending on their needs and wishes.
Have we talked already about just doing a run of KBC style laser engraved keys?
Lasered PBT with no infill. I believe Signature Plastics has the equipment/molds to do this. This will last a LOT longer than all the other alternatives being discussed.

I am most definitely interested in this, I am assuming the UK key layout will be available, ie the larger enter key ?I expect that buyers with a keyboard layout other than US will have to buy a booster pack containing blank keys and a larger enter key. It seems that there are just too many variations in international layouts for there to be a cost effective way of accommodating everybody.
In terms of the specific designs I like most of them, and barring a decision on a bright pink layout or similar I will buy the keys.
Thanks to the guys who are spending time and effort to make this happen, it is appreciated.

If i understand the wiki correctly, PBT keys are made from a harder plastic. This makes them more wear-resistant? I hate it when the texture gets worn off.
With normal keyboards (abs?), the keys start to wear after about 5 months of use. How long does the PBT material last in comparison?
We need to start a poll and get the ball rolling.
Also, why don't you Otaku people go make your own group buy already? :boink: This one is for double shots. :suspicious:
He said it will be ordered after the holidays, so there is no point in making a poll right now.

Would the 104 key set fit just the Filco? What about DAS, Steelseries, Thermaltake, Rosewill, and Razer?
I know that the SteelSeries, Filco, and Rosewill RK-9000 all have the same keycap profile. I've mixed and matched each on different boards with no issue.

Lol - 64,902 posts. I can beat that.
The biggest problem is that I don't have enough interest in any one particular set, and I'm distracted by holiday crap. But I am going to officially give up ownership, if that means anything.
I don't think you can get Signature to make their caps any thicker
Maybe someone who lives closer to SP could receive the keycaps; pack them then ship them; while panda does the negotiating etc etc. Also less work on one individual besides :XI'll offer to do the shipping & receiving...
Any takers ?
Hm... adamgoldberg you have 15 posts :X hm.... no offense but i think most people would have been more comfortable leaving that step to a more senior member. But then again it's up for you guys to decide :}
ok imma take charge of our second round of replacements!

OK, here's a Problem for a Panda. If you guys pay for half of my ticket, I will fly to China and do this.
If everybody wants laser-etched non-filled PBT keys why buy from Signature Plastics?
Why not have a Chinese Geekhacker buy a bunch of KBC laser-etched non-filled PBT keys (they are dirt, dirt cheap) in CHINA-town and throw them in a box to send to Santa's Elves and Reindeer? I'm sure we have trustworthy Chinese members. I think.

Does KBC make the long keys now?
When are you planning on ordering? Still after the holidays I presume.
Signature can also do dye sub, which might be interesting for multi-color art (e.g. a full-color awesomeface key).
Bump.
ligo told me that we can probably buy those PBT without infill in the US, but, we probably need to wait for a while.
Double shot replacements ROUND TWO!
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm really disappointed that I missed WhiteRice's first round double-shots. Really like how they turned out.
Consider this my posted notification of intent to buy whatever gets decided on for this round, barring a truly heinous color-scheme choice. Very interested in getting a set of true double-shot keys for my 3 month old, and already much-loved, Filco.
I have absolutely NO f^%$£$£ idea where this project is going...
Therefore I will have to make a reservation regarding my intent to place a order .
And people are talking Otaku, laser-engraving,dye-sublimation, weird colours and what not ...
Get real and show some leadership !

Someone needs to take over leadership of the order. That person is ultimately going to make a decision and tell some people "Don't like it? Tough, because this is what we're doing". At that point, if enough interest can be garnered, the set order goes through.
I've considered doing it but the logistics aren't that fun...
+1 for this.
- pbt - dye-sublimated (not sure if possible)
this is one of the option from SP.

This is great.
My vote goes to either double-shot or dye-sublimated pbt.
I didn't like the looks of lazer with infills...
People who want blanks, laser etched key can just buy from taobao...
I dont understand what's with the dicussion of making something that is already in the market...
the problem is buying from taobao for people that don't have some connection to china and those that are too cheap o pay the commission for the service of some.

Btw, prices for dye sub keys with signature plastics are about 4 times as much as double shot. Just saying.
Btw, prices for dye sub keys with signature plastics are about 4 times as much as double shot. Just saying.
Some restrictions:
We will need a minimum of 50 participants. Otherwise it's not really affordable.
We don't have a choice of font [Arial], but we do have a choice of placement.
The keycaps must be ABS for the double-shot process. Blanks can be PBT or ABS. Glow-in-the-dark can't be used with the double-shot process. Double-shots can only have one color in the legend. Multi-colored legends require pad-printing or dye sub.
We're restricted in color choice by what Signature has in stock. They have a lot of colors, so it's probably not a problem, but we may be limited in certain parts of the spectrum or some more subtle shades.
If anybody wants to drop the 60 grand to pay for the retooling costs for thicker keys, I'll talk to signature about it.
Custom legends for double shot keys are $15 or $20 at Signature Plastics for the tooling. I ordered and distributed the original first batch of the geekhack key earlier this year.
Double shot is actually the cheapest option signature plastic offers. As you see pad printing is more expensive and sublimation dye is out of the question.
Only question is, what font to use and how much will that cost ?Downside to double-shot from SP
The font will be the standard signature Arial style font because that's all that's available.
We don't have a choice of font, but we do have a choice of placement....choice of font size too I believe.
The solid keycaps with glowing legends was brought up earlier and SP won't/can't do that.
I would be interested in a classy set of double shots.
Cherry Red ESC Keycap
These were originally made in very limited numbers for the "Teamwork" progamer keyboard designed by the Chinese wNv e-sports team and produced by Cherry.
The ESC key uses the same thick plastic and design as any of the vintage Cherry Corp. keycaps. This one is from a special order in 2010 and probably one of the very last double shot keys Cherry Corp. ever produced.
Obviously, these are very hard to find and I am very grateful to the person who made it possible for me to get my hands on one of these. Thanks a lot!
Cherry G80-1800 HFU
Cherry MX Blue, Double-Injection Molded Keycaps, 1996
Oh and from what I know, the Red Cherry caps were made for the WNV limited edition release of the G80-1863 in CHINA-town.
there still double shot PBT option yet.. i don see anyone make that yet or KBC either.
I thought doubleshot and pbt were not compatible together :/
that's from SP, they said they cant do that. maybe they don't have the machines can do that?
we still don't know the PBT will work if 2 shot molded.
So had this plan died out, or is Panda just getting info for us at the moment?
Still interested in getting something, at some point :p
Pandas never rush. I've seen them at the zoo.
I'm in as well, bought a Filco just for this!
That was your only reason for buying a Filco?
That was your only reason for buying a Filco?
I like KL. He bought the keys without having a Cherry MX keyboard.
WTF?
I don't get why it's so popular to get different styled keys for the WASD cluster. In my opinion it looks like crap. I tried it with the Round 1 replacement keycaps, and I quickly removed the orange WASD keys because it looked tacky.
I think black keyboards look tacky.

Let me be the first one to welcome you to Geekhack!
That set does look good to me too. Has Panda-r made any decisions on what the set will be like?
I've made the decision not to listen to what everyone wants because as we all know it human society can never collectively come to single decision. Panda's on the other hand all just strive for one thing, no it's not panda sex, it's bamboo.

I can get on board if the keys are lasered non-filled bamboo with Panda OS keys.
I'd still be in for round two if it was some cool color keys, instead of those boring dolce keys with the big ass lettering in the middle.

How close are these to Leopold keys? Obviously the keys with stabilizers wouldn't work, since Leo uses Cherry corp stabilizers, but what are the key profiles like?
I foresee a large market for Leopold caps in, oh, February or so.
I swapped my Das blanks to my Ducky and had no problems changing the stabilizers. Das uses the same stabilizers as Filco and Ducky uses Cherry stabilizers. I think you can do the same with Leopold.
Thats right. Most people get confused about stabilizers, despite there being a detailed article by ripster on this in the wiki.

In short, if there isn't someone with some organizational skills in charge, forget it. Even if it happened to be something I wanted, I wouldn't even take a chance if nobody's clearly in charge for fear the order also would get severely messed up.
Maybe the thing to do would be if someone's really interested, start a new thread for round three and do it right, and leave everyone guessing what round two was.
Sixty - what kind does the Leopold use and will the Signature plastic spacebar be compatible? They fit Filcos and Cherry but don't know about Leopold (I would think so but just to make sure).

Unfortunately not, they're just a photoshop job. I do dream of orange keys though :)
We still doing this? Round three is just another copy of the ones in round one from what I understand...Not a fan of those.
At some point earlier in this thread I did wonder out loud about blank key caps in white PBT. Apparently PBT is the best plastic for dyeing so people could choose their own colours
Nice work organizing all of this. I love the exploration of color schemes that occured in Round Two. It would be cool to find some new looks beyond the color scheme of Round 1/3, and this goes a long way of putting it all in one place. Maybe it would be worth putting up a poll? Or is it too early?
