Hello everyone
For a long time, I’ve looked up to GEON as a mentor and have always learned a great deal from his work and designs.
During one of my visits to the Geon Warehouse, I was completely blown away by the sight of countless F1 weights stacked up like a mountain, with their golden surfaces shining under the lights. It was such an impressive image that I simply couldn’t get it out of my head after I returned home.

Then I had a slightly crazy idea:
"Why not let people see the weight from the outside, instead of hiding it inside the keyboard?"

And that was the moment F8X was born (its original name was F84, haha)

With F8X, I wanted to preserve the signatures and design language that make Geon’s keyboards so recognizable, while combining them with my own ideas.
I felt that the F2 had some interesting similarities to +84 and the design direction I was exploring. However, the weight of the F1 was simply too distinctive and impressive for me to ignore.

So I decided to combine the elements I loved from F1, F2, and +84 into an entirely new keyboard — and that became F8X.
For the internal structure of F8X, I kept the original design of the F1 and only made a few adjustments to accommodate a new mounting system that I came up with. I temporarily call it Half Gasket / Half Sandwich Mount, combined with an Isolated Topmount.

Instead of using the original Oring mounting system from the F1, I modified the mounting structure to create a softer and more flexible typing feel, while preserving the sound signature that I already loved so much about the F1.
After finishing the first version of the F8X design, I sent it to Geon and asked if I could develop a project in this direction. He was extremely excited about the idea, and from there, we began working together to develop F8X as a collaboration project.

I completed the first design in January. After countless rounds of revisions, testing, and fine-tuning, F8X has now taken approximately 8 months to develop.
