Hi Everyone!
I used to be very into the mechanical keyboard community many years ago, and I am getting back into it now that I have a need for a new fullsize keyboard (with numberpad) for work. There have been a lot of new switches and technologies since I was active in the community, so I'm hoping a few of you can give me some guidance for what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for a high-quality fullsize keyboard with creamy sounding switches. I'm used to Cherry MX Browns, so would prefer a similar sort of tactile switch. Bonus points if the keyboard has a volume knob, the switches are hotswappable, and has very nice/high-quality keycaps. I don't care about RGB or overall looks, as long as it looks appropriate for an office environment.
For context, I currently use a Ducky One 2 with MX Browns for work and a Keychron Q6 with MX Browns. I love my Ducky, and am overall looking for an upgrade. My Keychron is okay, but would love something with more of a creamy/thocky sound instead of clacky. The metal case is a bit heavy too, but I would get another board also made out of metal if everything else is what I'm looking for.
I'm willing to pay a premium for the right board (think $150-$200, or more if needed). Top priorities are the creamy sound of the switches on a fullsize keyboard. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks!
TL;DR: Looking for a fullsize keyboard with creamy sounding switches being the most important factor. Money is not really an object. Do you have any recommendations from any manufacturer, or should I look into building my own?
