Title: Nmb rt-8251t
Post by: HaaTa on Fri, 19 November 2010, 15:59:15
New find today :D (also picked up a crappy Logitech wireless keyboard, and a Microsoft Natural Keyboard for lulz).

I almost thought it was one of the many rubber domes in the stack I was going through (lots of Keytronics...).

FCC tells me its from NMB Technologies Corp., Hi Tek Keyboard Division (~March 1993).

Whoops, I hope IST doesn't mind that I repurposed one of their keyboards .

Damn, do those springs fly everywhere! Glad I didn't lose any.

Neon-Green slider, hehe.

Interesting stabilizers.

Shucks, no double-shots this time 'round. Interesting attachment mechanism though.

Oh well, this is what matters anyways.

Interesting, looks like it's possible to enable an XT mode on the board (not that I'd ever have the desire to do that...).

Guess I'm used to seeing INTEL chips all the time.

Interesting, whatever it means...

Neat, keys are labelled, though not completely accurate...if memory serves correctly.

Closeup of the slider (only difference is the colour)

Haven't really had a lot of time to test it out. But I'd say it's a tactile, but not clicky board. More tactile than MX Browns (noticeably). Though the force required is about the same.

Once the keycaps are cleaned I'll be using it for a while.

Edit: Forgot to add my usual Picasa (http://picasaweb.google.com/TrIpLeHaaTa/NMBRT8251T?feat=directlink) link.

Any idea what those switches actually are? I don't recognize them at all.

They are nmb space invader switches.  The one I have is clicky and is most similar to cherry blues in feel.

Ahhhh, I knew I recognized the sliders from somewhere.
