Long time reader, first time poster here
The cherry is ~$30-50.
The geek hack is $100.
I love the look of both, except the green keys give the geek hack a slight advantage.
I have no experience with either of the key switches.
What do you guys think? Feel free to give me other suggestions.
Also, if any of you are selling either keyboards let me know. Thanks!

might as well get both...you will have 20 keyboards in a few months if you hang around here too long
-
If you have the the money and can afford to spend it, get the GH Space Saver !
The G84-4100 will probably be around (new) for a long time,
the GH space-saver won't .
The only reason I haven't bought one is the 30$ customs-fee and the 25% added
Sales-tax of the full amount ! I would probably have to pay upon import ..

Geek Hack Space Saver.....a lot better.
But a little noisy.

ml's can be had on ebay for 20ish if you look for a bit, i got 2 ml's for 30bucks with the rubber cover (so they were practically new since ml's are usually rack mounted and rarely ever get typed on.). use em htpc keyboard and financee thinks it's cute.

...dammit.

Wait, there's a Geek Hack keyboard?
-
+1 for the Geek Hack Space Saver!

What do you use your keyboards for mostly? Gaming, typing, programming, etc.?

I do occasional gaming, a lot of typing, and my comsci classes start next semester, so *future* programming.

I've already started building a collection and it's very addicting.
Don't tempt me bro.

This is a good point. I'm leaning toward the gh.

I say go with the GHSS. I just put down an order for one myself. I was leaning towards something with Cherry Blues, but I figured, they'll still be around for a long time. The GHSS, not so much, and it is quite unique. HHKB size (wide, at least) without losing a lot of keys.

I haven't heard good things about the ML switches, and the GHSS switches are decent for typing if you like loud, clicky switches. Both of those keyboards have 2kro so I wouldn't reccomend either for FPS gaming. HTH.

How much louder are they than MX blues or a model m?

Search GH for a review of SIIG MiniTouch.

I'd pick the G84-4100, it has the CTRL where my hands expect it. Doesn't "Fn" position bother you at least a bit?
MLs are not that bad - they don't posses the funky feeling of MX blues (MX brownies on their way to me, no opinion yet), but I am able to type comfortably and without errors on them. I even suspect their short travel could be beneficial to speed, but that's just a hunch I'll have to check some day soon.

for comfortable gaming i tend to Cherry G84-4100 (i have both)
But beeing a owner of a GH is something special ;)

Somebody do a review of the G84-4100.
Comes up ALL the time.
There's a few older (1.5-2 years old) reviews in the review forum. I could do a review once mine arrives next week if it'll help, though.

Thanks for all of the input. I've decided to go with the ghss, but that's not saying that I won't pickup the other in the near future. My cheap adesso has 6 kro or something, so I'll probably just use that if I need for gaming.
