So, I got an Apple Extended Keyboard II (Swedish layout) a few days ago in the mail. I use it on my Mac Pro using an iGriffin iMate. It works fine with one exception: the key below "esc" and to the left of "1" is not recognised. I have tried a bunch of different solutions but none of them have worked. And as i play a lot of games, that button usually is the button for opening up the console.
Anyone else had this problem? And if so, how did you solve it? I wonder if it could that the key just is broken. Thanks in advance!

I use a Belkin ADB to USB adapter that also has this issue. So I don't think it's the adapter at least.
Edit: I think you'll find your missing key next to the left shift key. The <> key is thus missing, since it's been replaced with §. :smile: It might have something to do with the international layout of the board. Perhaps the adapter just isn't programmed to recognize the scancode the missing key sends out or something.

Actually, if i select different keyboard layouts, I can get the < > key to become a §, but as it is right now i have the < > on the proper key.

Weird. My >< is §, but that's probably the adapters fault. Anyway, I hooked it up to my Linux box to see if the adapter is sending any sort of data when pressing § by catting /dev/input/blah, which it didn't. I tried with two different AEK II's and connected to the Belkin, neither of them sent anything when I pressed the actual § key. :/
Edit: This just keeps getting weirder. On OS X, my >< key works as it should, it's not switched with §.

Can't offer any help but only confirm I've got the same problem (though I hadn't noticed before reading this thread). I'm also using the Griffin iMate.
The virtual keyboard in OSX does look a bit strange, though. It maps to the §-key and lacks the <>-key on the layout. The iMate probably recognizes all keyboards as US layout and skips some scancodes?

Yeah, that is exactly how it looks for me. Well, still not a thing that would make me stop using my AEKII. Have been using it for a few days now, and i really can't imagine switching back to the flat apple keyboard now :D

Found a AEKII (swedish layout) at home today, and I'm thinking about starting to use it on my Windows 7 computer. I found a place to buy the belkin adapter, but i want to know if it works properly before wasting 30$...
Does the swedish letters هنِ work fine with just the adapter and it's drivers, no other software? And if you need the § key (for those of you that didn't know, to the left of 1 under ESC on swedish keyboard layouts) you could just rebind it to say F15?
Also, did someone get the locking Caps lock to work? Heard some people had some problems with that...

The < > key and the § key doesn't work out of the box and i can't get the altgr to work but هنِ and the rest works.

If you don't mind a bit of soldering and tinkering, you could build a converter that uses Hasu's ADB to USB firmware (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=14290.0) for the Teensy 2.0 (http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/index.html) microcontroller board. It supports a locking Caps Lock.
