Title: Bluetooth Mechanical Keyboards?
Post by: Eclairz on Thu, 25 November 2010, 06:16:53
Any idea what mechanical keyboards which support bluetooth. And if there are any modifications to change a mechanical keyboards to support bluetooth.

Main reason for this is to support my ipad and laptop which i want to use from  a distance.

The only one keyboard that supports bluetooth is the filco majestouch but they're hard to get a hold of in the UK, ideally a keyboard based around Cherry ML switches with a similar layout to the HHKB Pro 2.

If I had the space, I might consider buying this:

And do my own Bluetooth controller mod on it.  That way I think I could safely say I had the world's biggest Bluetooth mechanical keyboard around for use on a portable device.  Only problem would be the batteries needed to power up the keyboard would be a pain to carry around.

If you're lucky, you can fly over to Fukuoka, Japan to go pick up the only one I've ever laid eyes on. That is, if it's still there.

I thought they were still producing them *sigh* anyway what the hell is happening with the wireless USB standard anyway, just seems like so many standards are falling by the wayside.

XArmor may be doing a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard.

But you didn't hear it from me.

Didn't they stop producing the bluetooth filco because it didn't conform to standards or something?

Bluetooth works great.  I just added a PS3 to Harmony Remote adapter from Logitech.  Flawless operation but the stupid PS3 only recognizes one bluetooth remote at a time, causing Family Strife.

Do they not use the Harmony stubbornly, or are you like Smeagol with the Harmony?

Can't resist.
