Title: Cherry G81-3000LRNUS2 Question/Help
Post by: oddfuture on Mon, 29 November 2010, 18:36:27
I was wondering if anyone had experience with this keyboard and I was wondering what kind of mechanical switch this model uses. I'm assuming they're blue switches, but I could be wrong I just want to get it verified before I place an order and the keyboard layout is it with a fat enter? or standard?

US layout - so should be ENTER in a single row.

But according to a quick Google search, it is membrane. Definitely not MX blue.

G81s always are MY mechanism boards (linear mechanics over membrane). To most people, they are less enjoyable than bog standard rubber domes.

I always like to say that if Cherry could come up with a better-feeling mechanism (maybe OKI-style), G81s would be quite attractive. With their metal backplate, they give a very solid impression, more so than G80s.
