Title: Armygroup discussion thread
Post by: Asherz on Wed, 01 December 2010, 12:05:48
There was a few requests for an armygroup discussion thread, and there doesn't seem to be one around so I'll start one up.

Official site: https://www.armygroup.com.tw/

A useful site for finding out what the different cherry keys are in chinese:

http://park16.wakwak.com/~ex4/kb/tech_cherry_mx.htm

Blank keys
http://www.armygroup.com.tw/shop/goods.php?id=5370

The ever elusive black Realforce 87U
http://www.armygroup.com.tw/shop/goods.php?id=3607

Thermaltake Meka G1keyboards. Not sure if shipping yet.
http://www.armygroup.com.tw/shop/goods.php?id=5049

Post No.4 has a great guide regarding ordering from the site, giving accurate translations of each options. It will also help to use Google Chrome as it has an automative traditional chinese translator built in.

Do you have a shot of the "exquisite wrapping" shipping options when not run through a translator? Without the source text, it's often impossible to guess what a machine translator means when it decides to spit out gobbledygook.

great guide Fssbzz, really helpful :)

I got there in the end using Google chrome and the auto translate to traditional Chinese.

Anyone have idea on shipping times? I've dealt with some foreign companies and waited months for them to ship out.

they are pretty fast.
they use EMS
it is equal to USPS International Express Mail.
The fastest int service available in USPS.
4~5days to deliver once it shipped.

Ok great, I'm having a little problem with the order, since I got to the paypal screen, which then sent me to a separate paypal form which I logged in and confirmed payment with, I wasn't then sent onto any like "thankyou for paying" screen on the site, do they just update the order after they have manual checked the payment has gone through?

I'm getting this 未確認,未付款,未出貨 under the 訂單狀態 of the order section, does it take a while to confirm they have got payment?

Cheers.

Thanks Fssbzz.

It took them about 5 days before my order was even shipped.  If you have questions about your order, there's a button inside account management to send them questions.  You can send them questions in english, and they'll respond in english.  It's a little broken, but it's understandable.

Another note:  if you mouse over their icons/links in the account management page and look at the link that appears in the bottom left corner of google chrome, all of the links are actually in english, so it helps you confirm that you're clicking on the right thing.

About the steps they take while processing the order.

They will confirm the order first.  Make sure you've confirmed your e-mail address after creating the account by clicking the link in the e-mail they send. Chrome doesn't appear to translate e-mails inside of gmail, but you can paste it into translate.google.com to know which link to click.

After the order has been confirmed, they will check stock and verify that the order has been paid for.  This took 3 days for me.  Even though paypal showed that the payment was transferred as soon as I made the order, the information in account management did not update until 3 days later.  Until that time, the account management window will show that you still owe them money and provide you with a link to paypal to pay it.  Don't make a mistake and pay them twice.

After confirming that I had paid via paypal, it took another two days to ship it.   I also ordered on a Thursday night.  It may have taken longer due to the weekend.

You just literally answered every single question I had! If there was a rep system I would rep you! :)

Hopefully the payment will clear and they'll get it shipped out in 4 days since your was over the weekend, then another weeks wait and hopefully it should arrive, literally can't wait :P First time I haven't had second thoughts about blowing £100 on a computer peripheral/ any PC part really, hopefully it's as nice to type on as the hype makes out to be :)

Glad I could help.  If I remember, I'll add more once the package arrives, such as condition of the product, whether the packaging was adequate, etc.  I only ordered some blank keycaps for my filco tenkeyless, so I doubt there's much to mess up, but we'll see.

I did look for a blank ten keyless board on there but couldn't find one so just went for the UK version, how much were the blank keycaps seperatly?

fssbzz, you may want to add links to keys and such, since people have interest in ordering Blank keycaps and such.

I'm looking at the blank keycap set for the Filco, but think I am going to wait to see what happens with the double shot order and what not.

I got that blank set and they are as advertized. Cheapest set around too, even after shipping to Canada. They also marked it as a gift so I could skip on the customs charges (EKB does no such thing even when asked and I ended up paying $20 extra in taxes because they didn't want to check off a box).

Google translate "telephone format wrong" to 電話格式錯誤 (I dont understand the first 2 characters)
In asia, we dont have dash or space in our telephone numbers.

I really should probably try and add the blank key caps to my order that I placed last night, since I'd hope they'd include the expensive shipping under one price with the keyboard.

Would probably just be too much hassle, I'll settle for the printed keys.

Make sure your number is in either a 6 or 11 digit format for either a home phone or mobile, you may have to also include your area code/ country code at the beginning of a home number

eg. 0000 123456 - home
or. 01234567891 - mobile

My number is 13 digits long including the area code and 10 digits without it. And that's for mobile since it's the only phone I have.

I'm honestly not sure, I tried googling it and the only thing I could come across was adding a "1" for US to make it 11 digits, so maybe it's something similar for Finland.

If your still having trouble it might be worth just putting in a made a number, I'm not sure what they use it for though as they say they delete it after the order.

I ordered on Tuesday. seems like they just start shipping today on Friday. Careful when your order moves to shipped there is a received package something or other button. DONT click on it. It moves your order status to complete. I was looking for the EMS tracking number and clicked on it. I messaged them asking them to move it back to waiting on receive, I'm currently waiting on their reply.

Someone asked how much it cost after everything. I ordered 4 Filco Tenkeyless at a base price of 3400 TWD, after taxes, shipping, and fees it was 142 US dollars per keyboard.

Just to add to the fire, I'm using a tenkeyless that arrived in fantastic condition. Definitely do not worry about package protection as it came wrapped in four layers of bubble wrap (unless you expect crimes against nature whilst in transit).

I was a little wary of having my entire address contained in a single line in the address field, but that worked out fine. Definitely would recommend Armygroup to Australian users if PChome doesn't fit the bill.

Additionally, since it was mentioned a page back, are the capslock keys on the Filcos stabilized? It wiggles more than the backspace, enter or spacebar, so I would assume not. I'm thinking about replacing the wide key with a smaller, normal sized key to prevent hitting it accidentally. I don't want to brazenly rip it out without knowing in advance though.

Just remap Caps to something useful in software.. ctrl, or maybe backspace..

Isn't stabilized. Just pulled mine off to check.

I would just remap it to backspace, so nice to have that way.

That one.

"tea-axis" = browns

I had the same issue ordering from them a few days ago, but yeah as Megaweapon said, tea-axis is equivalent to the Cherry Browns.

I just used this guide linked on the first page:

Then just copied the symbols and did a find on the page :).

Just got my cherry blue 10 keyless Filco through the post! In 6 days from China to the UK! I've never had anything ship that fast, including the weekend as well I was very pleased with the service! :)

I got some pictures of the packing/unboxing etc.

Lots of bubble rap, a good two inches worth around the brown paper wrapping.
The actual keyboard box is flawless, no damage at all!
Inside the box, on top there's the USB adapter and an armygroup sticker
(http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1610/mg0990.jpg)
Underneath there was some free items, including red escape key, yellow WASD keys, key extractor and a cool portable brush :)
Last shot with all the new keys installed etc.

As for actually typing on the keyboard, it's so nice, I really don't know how I coped with my apple keyboard for so long, this board is so comfy to type on, and doesn't make your wrists or fingers ache at all. The quality of the keyboard is fantastic, has a real nice weight too it. I honestly wasn't expecting it too be this nice, and I had quite high expectations to begin with :)

I'm not sure if postage is fixed for international.  I paid around $150 USD shipped to California for the white tenkeyless.

For those who previously ordered: did they send you an email saying they shipped it or anything like that? I ordered last Friday and my shipping status according to their site (and using google translator) is still "Stocking in the".

Just got in a Brown Filco Tenkeyless and the shipping was super fast. Around a week and the packaging was insane. Much like above two layers of bubble wrap with nylon wrapping and then finally brown paper expertly covered the box.

The browns are very nice and I think I prefer it over my Unicomp, I mainly bought it to replace my apple keyboard at work since my coworkers would kill me if I brought in the unicomp. The only problem I have is one side is slightly higher than the other which makes it a bit wobbly, a small slip of paper folded fixed the issue but I will probably have to have a longer term fix. Other than that its superb.

jdreamer, mine came out around 150 shipped to the USA.

Broncosoozie, mine is not in stocking in the, but the number they gave me still has yet to be useful. Though is the same one that was on the USPS and EMS labels of the package.

I have this odd feeling you'd get charged more for shipping and such, since your government hates importing anything and its citizens.

I just wish they would combine shipping. I add on the Filco keycap set and it adds like 7 dollars in shipping. Can't they just toss it in the box with the keyboard and blank keyset?

Mine was shipped to Melbourne, all up for $140AUD, give or take a smidge. Certainly buying from within the country will be an easier process, and faster as well, however I found the savings worth my time and effort.

You guys are a bad influence. I posted (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=13295) about my NMB "space invader," split-space/backspace keyboard two days ago, and I've already decided to buy a keyboard. I bought the Filco Brown Cherry 104 from Armygroup yesterday. I have a Unicomp 104, and found the action similar to a Model M, but too stiff for daily programming. I ended up going back to my Apple "chicklet" style USB keyboard at home, and either using the Microsoft Wireless 3000 (yet another rubber dome keyboard), or the very nice scissor switch Thinkpad W510 keyboard on my laptop.

I have high hopes for the brown cherry switches, however, and I love the simple, clean design of the Filco Majestouch 104. I'll hopefully be able to use it for daily work.

I imagine the action of the keys is similar to that of those old mechanical Dell keyboards, AT101W I believe, but I hope it'll feel a little more satisfying.

Just have a quick question... what's the difference between the Majestouch versions and non Majestouch versions of the Filco keyboards?

Thinking about picking up a blue cherry version and I know the Majestouch version is out of stock, but I'm still curious. Aside from the price difference I don't see anything else.

Thanks ripster.

So the non Majestouch is from Filco and the Majestouch is from Diatec? Does Diatec do anything to the keyboards to differentiate them from the normal Filcos?

Looks like about a $13 difference between Majestouch and non-Majestouch. If everything is the same I'll probably just get the non-Majestouch version. This will be my first keyboard after the 87U so I'm really looking forward to it :)

Hi there,

First time poster and I'd just like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has participated in this thread, it's been very informative.

However, I was hoping someone might be able to help me out a bit with ordering a cherry brown filco tenkeyless version from armygroup. I'd just like to know:

Is there is a way to tell if they have it in stock? I can't seem to find any stock status on their website and also if this is the correct product link:

http://www.armygroup.com.tw/shop/goods.php?id=1680

This would be my first time ordering from over seas and I'd just like for it to go as smoothly as possible. Also, does anyone the typical turn around time from the time you place your order until you actually receive it (shipping to the US)?

Thanks!

I got an e-mail for mine, said something to the effect of: we shipped it, when you get it, please click on this link and confirm that you've received it.

You can then go to your little user panel area and they should have an EMS tracking number there for you, although when I tried it in the EMS system it was being funky and didn't work for a day or so.  But the keyboard arrived in about a week. I had placed my order late on a Friday night, and got it by Friday of the next week.

Did anyone else have their order hang up in the "Stocking in the" phase for a while?  Mine has been there for about a week, which breaks my heart as most people said they actually had their keyboard delivered to them in about a week.

First post here as well.  I followed the guide and picked up the Filco tenkeyless brown switch board last Tuesday night.  Just a heads up the next  morning (around 4 am I forgot to turn my sound off on my phone its why I know haha) I received an email saying it shipped.  My tracking number never updated (and still hasn't) and it says Data entry error when I click it. It arrived here in Kansas today through all the nasty weather.

Hope this helps. Thanks for the awesome write up on how to order. I actually found it enjoyable ordering for some reason.

Packaging was amazing.

I am so absolutely extremely jealous.  I ordered Tuesday morning and it still doesn't list on the website as having shipped.

I'd absolutely love some loud clicks right now.  Maybe I should contact them and ask about my order status.  Does anyone know if I sent a message to their custom service in English if there would be any way I could get a response?

I think not only do some of the posts get censored/deleted, but also because most people do not have anything in excess. They probably only have 1 or two computers at the maximum and only have 1 keyboard...not much to compare it with. Not like us, hording 3+...just on our desk. Also, at the bottom of the page, you have the yellow wasd keys. Are those included? Google translate translated it to "gift" and I wasn't sure if it is included as a gift or you can get them for the keyboard for an additional cost. Thanks.

For future customers, if you see your item hasn't updated after seeing the "stocking the" for a few days (2-3) kindly send them an email. They reply back pretty quickly.

For those of you who can't use your tracking number, copy the EMS number and plug it in this page. http://postserv.post.gov.tw/webpost/CSController?cmd=POS4004_1&_ACTIVE_ID=191 I think the default one they use when you click on it is for China only and then this one is international. I ordered last Saturday and it still hasn't arrived here in New England. I think it might be the weather. Who delivers the package? USPS? UPS?

Edit: Here's a better English one that also works. http://www.track-trace.com/post/track It says on here Arrival at delivery office    Jan/08/2011     09:37 , does that mean that I have to get it from the post office? :(

Thanks for those tracking links. I got the flight information for my package, and I now know it'll be arriving in New York ~8am tomorrow. I can even stay up all night and track the flight on google maps if I wanted to. Pretty great. Was ordered saturday, didn't process until Monday Taiwan-time which was ~10pm Sunday EST. Shipped Tuesday Taiwan-time which was ~10pm Monday EST.

Got a 104-key NKRO cherry blue, and ordered a blank set just because it was pretty cheap to add on. Will probably stick with printed characters just so other people besides me can use the keyboard.

if I got an 87-key I could cosplay as fruitdealer, oh well. can't wait to see how it feels in SC2 as well(will probably not improve my skill).

Works great on starcraft 2, I had a steelseries 6gv2 before and it wasn't bad for starcraft 2 though i think the amount of pressure to push down on them was a little too much for rts.  I think that browns are a good compromise but it all comes down to personal preference.

I also play WoW and some cod blops with it too, no complaints from me so far.

Thanks for the buying guide! Ordered myself a White Filco w/ Browns and a Black Filco w/ Blues. Worked out about AU$200 cheaper then buying locally with all the gifts factored in.

A tip when using Chrome's translator, on the Shipping Information page, after you select your Region, you can tell Chrome to render the original, then tell it to Translate to English again and the next select box (Country or state or whatever it is) will be in English too.

No not really a lot of noise at all, maybe just slightly above a normal keyboard.  The space does kind of make a louder thud noise, but for me its really not noticeable since I usually game with headphones on anyway.  Pretty happy with the board so far.

OK, I'm seriously thinking about trying a Filco order from Army group.

I'm in Canada, and they really screw us with fees when importing - brokerage, taxes, etc...  I have things fairly well worked out for goods coming from the USA but anything significant coming from Taiwan would be a significant departure for me.

I noticed in my tester google translated checkout that it had a line for "Taxes (already paid)".  Does anyone know if that means they use a postal service class that already has all import fees and taxes paid?  Or am I going to be in for a nasty surprise to get my package out of custody when it arrives?  Once UPS held a package ransom for double it's value in brokerage fees.  I don't wish to repeat that again.

I believe those taxes they mentioned are the export tax and/or some kind of local taxes in Taiwan. You are going to have to pay import tax and/or any kind of taxes from your side.

They ship fast and EMS from Taiwan to Vietnam is blazingly fast... order placed 4PM yesterday, shipped at 8PM, arrived at customs 2PM today, going to be delivered in about few hours... that's about 30 hours :D

Please enter a different credit or debit card number."

OK, that's fair enough.  It's a valid assumption that I'd be responsible for import fees.  I have, however, dealt with a few retailers who are set up with Canada Post/customs to charge taxes/brokerage at their shopping cart level meaning the package comes straight to your door pre-cleared with no extra fuss.  I didn't know if that was the case here since they clearly use a high-grade postal shipping class to achieve the quick shipping speeds they seem to have.

If I'm going to get saddled with unknown brokerage fees (hopefully $8 worst case if it arrives via Canada Post) and another 13% tax then the Armygroup pricing is less attractive :(.

I got exactly the same problem! Tried multiple credit cards, both as a "guest" and through my PayPal account (with linked confirmed credit card) - I get "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment" or "Link another credit card to your account". This happens no matter which card I try to use.

PayPal "transaction screening software" must have gone really nuts. PayPal forums are full of people with the same problem.

How am I going to buy my Filco?

Just tried friends card (that has paypal account), but I used one of his random debit cards and pay as guest:

"Your credit or debit card has been declined for this transaction; PayPal could not validate the card. Please verify that the information you entered is correct, or try a different credit or debit card."

Then I just tried using his paypal account (log into paypal) and it worked.  Armygroup went up in prices.  Few days ago I tested and it was $4500 THB.  When I did the order today it was $4625.

I ordered the 87 key browns (majestouch tenkeyless MX brown).  Shipping to Missouri, USA for $161.48.

Armygroup is fantastic!! Will definitely buy again.

I paid last Saturday, around 6pm EST (probably 6am Taiwan time, if they are on the same time as Beijing), the package was sent Monday, arrived in NY two days ago, and came to my door today!

I wasn't here to receive it, so I have to go pick it up from the post office monday :(

Protip: use your EMS code from the Armygroup website at the USPS tracking site and you'll know exactly where your package is once it hits US shores.

That's what EMS and Taiwan Post records show. It left he facility Monday morning Taiwan time, got on a plane either that day or the next, and landed in NY on the 15th. It doesn't show what day it left Taiwan. Considering the 12 hour time difference and the ~20 hour flight, the difference would only be 8 hours (i.e. if the plane left Tuesday morning at 8 am Taiwan time it'd be in NY 4pm US time). Then it just breezed through customs and was sent down here.

Seeing as it moved so quick through customs I'm thinking it was marked as a gift and wasn't charged and taxes, so that's good.

EDIT: I dun goofed. Here's the USPS's schedule:

-Out for Delivery, February 17, 2011, 9:34 am, COLLEGE PARK, MD 20740

You used the chinese (simple).  I used google translate:

"Chinese (traditional)" :  united states = 美國
"Chinese (traditional)" : new zealand = 新西蘭

Chinese (traditional) makes most sense because its the one that works for "United States".  Simple does not.

I cannot find 新西蘭 on the list.  Although one is extremely close.  The 2nd and 3rd symbol is same, but first symbol is slightly different on the list.
19th option down.

Are you using Chrome browser? If you choose any country from the list, hit "show original" from auto translate bar, then select "Translate to English" (from context menu) the list of countries will be translated too.

Actually you don't need to show the original. Pressing English from the translation language options again will translate all the text that has not yet been translated.

Yeah, they're really great. I'm definitely looking forward to using them again.

They mark the keyboards as gifts, so they should breeze through customs with no waiting.

No problem.

My total with shipping, paypal fees (if there was any? can't remember), and all that came up to just under $160. Was about $159.xx

Really good price shipped, especially for $CDN and if there's no customs.

I hope they don't give me customs since I wrote on the "order note" section on armpygroup to "please mark as a gift"... I hope that note was to them, and not to be put on the box, lol. Otherwise the customs could look at that and see it wasn't a properly marked.. maybe? Not sure.

I'll continuously update this post.

Here is my current shipping.  Paid paypal $161.48 for tenkeyless brown at 2/17 around 6pm (CST time).  Shipping to Kansas city, Missouri.

Processed through Sort Facility   February 20 2011, 02:56 pm   KANSAS CITY, MO 64121
Inbound Out of Customs   February 19 2011, 08:01 am
Inbound Into Customs
Inbound International Arrival   February 18 2011, 08:27 pm   ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS)
Foreign International Dispatch   February 17 2011, 09:18 pm   TAIPEI INT AMF, TAIWAN

It really sucks that Monday is a USPS holiday, so they're closed.  The board is 20 minutes from my house, yet I have to wait til tomorrow.

Technically, the "gift" thing only works up to $50.  Also, I believe I remember reading somewhere that with EMS services sometimes they let your package go straight through (for fast delivery) but send you a bill LATER for the brokerage and taxes.  Unfortunately you can't assume you got away tax free just because the package was delivered instead of a pickup slip.

Please keep us up to date.

the problem is the most likely are going to tax you since gift is for them normal package..
Most likely the guy will give your package 30$ please for taxed and etc.

I have to be happy that the Finnish customs are so lazy that they will let any package with "gift" on it pass through without checking anything on it. On rare occasions they might check if the content is really what it's supposed to be but any package marked as gift will certainly not get any import taxes or customs fees on it.

Just want to say my order with them is going through just fine. I was concerned that after paypal hit I logged into their website it said I never paid yet (a day later mind you) and that the status of shipping is (no shipping) this worried me, just in case I sent a customer service ticket they responded within 12 hours (very fast imo and they also replied in english) stating they didn't know what I meant, Payment cleared and they will be shipping in 1-3 days. I didn't respond and wrote it off to a crap website translation thanks to the browser.

I will post again in this thread commenting on shipping time of arrival and if product is accurate and working. So far they respond faster than newegg and even cross a language barrier to service their customers.

This has been said before, but the delays in the status of you orders are because they update the status manually. Some people have had even a few days before their payment was "accepted" in the order status.

From Canada Post? I have never gotten anything like that at a later date before. I order from the states/china a few times too. One time I got taxed (on delivery) for $12 for a $260 item lol. That's about it.

Not sure if I heard stories about this happening to Canada Post either. Ive heard it happening to UPS customers.

Not to sound rude but I didn't want to read through 16 pages of comments just to state my experience with them thus far is going great and they have responsive customer service. As well do not be afraid as your paypal clearance wont update even if your account shows the withdrawl, this is normal.

The only difference even if I read the previous posts is I would have worded my posts differently saying that "as other posters claim the transaction isn't updated accurately"

I do however now feel even better hearing that it is a common misconception and everything is 'normal'

IMO something like this should be edited in the OP so people could only read that and get all the information they need in order to purchase from Armygroup and understand what's happening, if there seems to be a problem.

Yes, but only on EMS services.  Most deliveries you have to pay to receive the package but for EMS they prioritize delivery performance and come collect from you later.  I generally don't receive EMS packages and it's been a number of years but it has happened to me personally a few years ago (not just an Internet story).

You never know, though, you may have no trouble.  Sometimes they don't bother depending on the amount and if the recipient is clearly an individual at a residential address.  It's all up to them whether they bother or not, but they are supposed to.

Packages marked "GIFT" are only supposed to be fee-free up to a declared value of $50 - was AG accurate on the declaration?
Title: Armygroup discussion thread
Post by: Kacee on Tue, 22 February 2011, 13:50:24
No, they are willing to mark the value down, they don't give a &%@$ about legal issues from your side, you will have to ask them, though. I did that, save me 12.5% from all kind of taxes.

Customs review is hit or miss, too. I import a lot of stuff, from anime figures to games, mechanical keyboards... etc... sometimes, I have to pay tax for something with $20 value declared, even marked as gift (just a few cents, lol) and with my recent purchases from Armygroup, 4 keyboards, 2 keycap sets, total value marked as NT$3000 (about $150?), they charged me nothing... can't complain, of course.

Armygroup has great service, 1 of my 2 keycap sets has all the key over the numpad blank, I ask them if I can exchange. They reply and told me to keep the keyset for "future use", they will send me another set as I ordered.

My impressions so far with PCHome and Armygroup are all great, definitely recommended. Sameday shipping, great customer service, willing to lower the shipping cost if you purchases multiple items, mark as gift and lower the declared value if needed...

PS: I don't live in the US, so YMMV.

Got my filco today!  WOW THAT WAS FAST!  If it wasn't for Presidents day (Monday), it would've taken 4 days.  So it took 5 days.  17th to 22nd.  Even over the holiday weekend.

Missouri, USA.

I like the feel, and weight, and keycaps better on the steelseries 6gv2.  Only thing I like on this better is slightly softer touch, and there's a definite tactile bump THAT I CAN FEEL.  SO much more compared to linear switch.  I hate linear switch.

Wonder why I ordered a FKBN87M/EB, yet bottom of board it says FKBN87M/CB?   CB?  I guess that's the chinese layout vs english layout?  Board seems to work perfect for me.

I can tell my touch typing went up a smidge so far from the easy keypresses.  Normally I do 70-90.  Or 90 on DELL if I'm lucky.  First try on typingtest.com (astronauts, 1min) I got a 96 wpm.

EDIT:
I just spent like an hour trying to beat my typing speeds.  Every time I get like 104-108 speed (aesops fable and astronauts), adjusted speed 95-100.  This keyboard allows me to do that.  I know for a fact that I definitely cannot do that with my DELL, or the 6gv2.

No word on customs.

This feels a lot better than my Das Professional S Silent. Even though they're both Cherry Browns, the filco has a lot more sturdiness to it, and the key presses feel better for some reason - a lot more fluent.

Where are you getting $114?

I'm assuming those are Taiwan Dollars.  I show the tenkeyless and full versions are $4300 and $4980, respectively.  Unless I'm missing something, those convert to $144.99 and $167.92, respectively, not including shipping...

On the other hand, it looks like the english tenkeyless tea axis is $3200, or $107.90 US, plus shipping, which is what, another $20?  Tea Axis is browns right?

I swear it was 3400 Taiwan Dollars when I checked it earlier (obviously a mistake by them). $200 is just an insane price to pay for a Filco.

I think the shipping will cost you about $40ish since they use EMS.

They raised the price already, it was NT$3400 for the Tenkeyless version and NT$3600 for the fullsize version, I'm not sure about the price of fullsize version, though.

But I'm damn sure about the price of Tenkeyless version, because I have ordered two, lol...

The order status is currently list as "preparing to ship", so I'm not sure if they are going to discard my order or honor their mistake and proceed to ship as ordered.

We will see, I'll update.

it was the correct link, they removed the old link with lower price and add another product (same) with updated price, so another id has been generated.

I passed an order 10 days ago at Army group, and didn't hear anything from them since then.

I followed the instructions in here exactly. Paypal payment done and already accepted 10 days ago, everything is ok. Nicole doesn't answer my e-mails at all, I don't receive any status update, shipping. Nothing. :(

What am I suppose to do to know the status of my order, or to just get an answer form them? I used Nicole e-mail, but never recieve any answers. :(

Thank you.

Did you sign into the site and try to check your order status?  I can't remember whether it was PCHome or AG or both, but they don't email you status updates - you need to go look for them.

Ok now! Nicole just answered my e-mail yesterday, and I should receive my order today or early next week.

She wrote me a nice e-mail with tracking numbers and every links I need to follow my order. I'm impressed.

Thumbs-up to ArmyGroup. :)

I received my order today, about 7 business days after I ordered which is amazing considering I live in canada.
I ordered a filco tenkeyless with blue switches and 2 yellow WASD sets.
The order also came with an additional WASD set and a nice retractable brush which was a nice surprise.
Unfortunately, 2 of the WASD sets had defaults. One had a key almost split in half and the other had a big chip on a visible part of the key.
I also found that the WASD set had an uncomfortable feel on the upstroke
I decided to not use these keys at all for now...

I also wanna order from armygroup from Canada, is there any problem with customs? What do they ship with?\\

Also, I kinda hate them for imposing fees for using CC and don't want to do business with them.

I'm sorta glad that they are able to do that - usually it's hard for us outsiders to purchase anything from US/Canada.
Logically speaking, I believe that armygroup has to pay a service fee in order to accept your international CC or anything.

So I guess it's still alright from here - just buy and if the final price is still cheaper than what you can get from nearer sources, count your blessings!

*while I'm still waiting for the Filco to come back in stock

I did not pay any customs fees and the package was delivered to me by canada post. I did not receive any shipping info, only the confirmation that it was shipped. 1 week later, I'm typing on bluesss :)))

Merchants are not supposed to charge the customer service fees for paying with CC, it's against most CC company rules.. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_merchants_charge_a_fee_for_using_a_credit_card (Maybe different rules in asia?)

It's the cost of doing business.. being asian myself though, I know lots of asian people give discount for cash and impose fees for CC IRL, but I've never seen that online before.

Any idea why their checkout system wants to charge me $370 for shipping to the US?  I've got $60 worth Cherry MX switches.  That's less than 1lb of stuff and it's no more bulky than a KB in a box... what am I missing?

Hi everyone, first post here!

I followed the guide in this thread and purchased a 104-key Filco Majestouch brown switch keyboard, and I love it
...EXCEPT that it doesn't want to work =[
It worked fine for the first two days, but then it stopped responding. Using both USB and the included PS/2 adapter, I can't get any response from my computer. PS/2 is not detected at all (from a cold boot of course, I'm not hot swapping), and USB will either light up all three LEDs, just the Caps Lock LED, or none at all, before the computer returns "USB Device Not Recognized". Has anyone here experienced this with their purchase? I've tried searching for similar situations, and I can't find any situations like this.
I noticed some people in this thread saying that they could contact ArmyGroup and they respond in English, how do I do this?

Thanks

When I click on the filco brown TKL link from post #4 and then translate in google chrome, I notice that the title of the web page starts with "(Discontinued) FILCO..."

Does anybody know if this means you can no longer buy this particular model, or if it just means this is the older MJ1 revision and although it's discontinued, you can still buy it?

Also there's an internet price and a card price... anybody know the difference? Which price is the one if you go through paypal?

I just did an estimate for some cherry white switches, it would cost me $33 USD for the switches but they want another $340 for shipping to US....

Try emailing nicole with your order number after you placed it but before you pay with paypal, and ask them to adjust the shipping cost.  It would still be around $50US shipping.  I did that once.  But I was only buying 10 switches and I decided it wasn't worth the $50 shipping cost.

Probably this guys (http://www.onlinecomponents.com/cherry-electrical_mx1ae1nw.html?p=11075430) will provide you a better price

1-24 :   $0.81
25-99 :   $0.74
100-249 :   $0.67
250-499 :   $0.65
500 + :   $0.63

A little bump... does anyone understand, what 已停產 means?
Google translates it as "discontinued", and i'm not sure how to understand this word. That it is no longer available, or that it has lowered price?
HERE (http://www.armygroup.com.tw/shop/goods.php?id=4962)'s a link for example, where there is a majestouch brown for 99$ :high5:
Also.. still can't decide whether to take blank, ninja or printed filco :tsk:

It means discontinued.  This is the Majestouch 1... the Majestouch 2 is the current model and looks no different on the outside.  It has 2layer (instead of 1) PCB and some other minor differences.
