Title: Need Advice On Buying a Keyboard.. Help Appreciated!
Post by: ngelicdark on Thu, 02 December 2010, 19:47:07
Hey everyone, I'm new here, but I've been lurking for the past few days.  I can't believe there's such a informative forums on keyboards >.>  Then again I only recently learned about mechanical ones in particular...

I've more or less decided that I wanted Cherry Browns because I like tactile and I need the noiseless bit.  Otherwise blues would still be on the table..

I've been meaning to buy either a Das or a Filco, but Metadot refuses to answer my emails when I asked them about their discount, and elitekeyboards is out of stock on Filco.  I snooped around and found out they've been like that since early last month, so I doubt they will be restocking on them anytime soon...  Or even at all since I didn't find a date on restock either.

So should I wait out on Metadot?  I've been waiting for around 3-4 days already but nope, I think their customer service is either really too flooded or consists of 3 people trying to answer a billion emails in their short workdays -_-  Or should I just drop that and try buying a Filco off the other two TW sites?  I've bought things from DealExtreme before (and suffered 2 month shipping -_-), but nothing that expensive so I'm a little wary on it.  I can read Chinese somewhat so that doesn't really bother me so much, aren't I lucky XD

On the other hand, if anyone else wants to suggest me a better keyboard that I will most likely use more for gaming, I'm all ears.  I'm willing to put $100ish but if something is that particularly awesome and will last me a decade or so I might put out some more.  Thanks!

PCHome sounds like a good bet. I don't think anyone has had a negative experience yet.

Yup, PChome seems pretty solid to me. And fast. Less than a week for my keyboard to me in my very excited hands.

Just be sure to use Google Chrome to make the translating smoother.
