Title: Looking for keyboard - specs inside
Post by: gacken on Fri, 17 December 2010, 01:39:40
Hi guys

I'm looking for my holy grail when it comes to keyboards, but I'm afraid it'll be an endless search.

I want a keyboard with the following specs:

Cherry Brown or Clear
Ger/UK Layut with large enter key
large shift key
larger than your average large "ctrl" key (that's my main concern)
tenkeyless would be the icing on the cake, but isn't a must.

Is there anything like that on the market?
The only keyboard I know that fits the description would be the yellow/black japanese realforce topre on keyboardco. It has the larger than standard ctrl key I desperately need. But the price is a bit too steep for my likings.

Help me out here.

hi! welcome to geekhack; you've certainly come to the right place :D

i'm sure our members will have suggestions...

to start off, do you need Control to the left of A, or down on the bottom row?

thanks for the warm welcome.

I should rather say "damn you all" tho, because since I found this site 2 months ago, I've already spent more on keyboard than in my previous 12 years of computer usage...

Ctrl key on the bottom left.

eh...this doesn't seem that attractive to me, considering I'm in CA as well, I'm going to be raped with an additional 10% due to sales taxes...assuming their op is legit...

If you really must have a tenkeyless, you're best off waiting for Keyboard company to receive the EU versions of Filco tenkeyless (That's somewhere in February). Another option is the Realforce, but if you can't justify the price, you don't have much options.

I-rocks 6230. The enter is L-shaped.

this comes with Clear and Fullsize, but it's a cheap entry in the world of mechanical keyboards.

sorry guys, but none of the keyboards match my description.

@Iodine

Filco doesn't have the large ctr key, neither does the realforce (except the japanese model)

IRocks doesn't have it either

@Ceesa I already own a mx blue and mx clear cherry g80, but it doesn't fit the criteria as well.

So i guess there is no keyboard that matches the specs I listed? :(

Large enter (not DE/UK layout), large ctrl key (larger than Realforce 91UBY), cherry brown, semi-tenkeyless.
Xarmor and Razer Blackwidow have larger ctrl too.

I'm sorry that I-Rocks 6230 match 90% of your description except for the non-Ger/UK layut.
