Title: Cherry G81 Buckling Spring?
Post by: FrittenFett on Sun, 19 December 2010, 16:59:59
While going throuh german eBay, i found two little princesses...

http://cgi.ebay.de/Cherry-Tastatur-DIN-Stecker-original-Feder-Tasten-/170580963587?pt=M%C3%A4use_Tastaturen&hash=item27b76af103

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130465318305&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

(For non-german users: "Feder Tasten" is
1. spelled wrong
2. should be written "Federtasten" and is ranslated: spring keys)

So, my question before getting a girlfriend for my G80 3000 Black MX is:

Someone has more intel about them? (Ripsteeeeeeeeer....?!)

He's either misinformed or lying. They use Cherry MY switches, which are terrible mechanical switches over membranes. There's only one guy on this site who can tolerate them, everyone else I know hates them worse than rubber domes.

G81s are usually MY switches, I've been told. G80s are MX. If you look at the label closely, the model is the MY-3000, it looks like. As far as I know, Cherry models are labeled as "switch class"-number.

And welcome to geekhack!
