I didn't find a thread on it, so I thought I would make one to let everyone who didn't know about the great deals Steam is having this week. Bought Bad Company 2 for 7 dollars two days ago.

any recommendations? didn't see anything that caught my eye.
-
I bought so many games.
Fall Out: New Vegas
Aliens vs. Predator
Battlestations: Pacific
Deus Ex Pack
Reccettear: An Item Shop's Tale
Stronghold Park
All for under $80.
-
Recettear today, not much maybe some Indie pack...
-
I would definitely recommend dead rising 2 for 20 dollars.
-
Bought Super Meat Boy earlier this week for 4$. Super fun platformer

Yeah, me too. Definitely worth the few dollars
-
I got ME2, have been waiting for resonable Steam price since I finished ME1... I just can't deal with discs anymore...
-
I'm also picking up Mass Effect 2. That's just an offer I can't pass.
-
Only bought Super Meat Boy and FEAR so far. Hoping for a sale on Dead Space and Batman: AA.
-
Damn, wish I knew about this when it started on the 20th! Even though I've beaten ME1 and ME2 on my 360, I'm very very tempted to pick them both up for my PC and enjoy the better graphics. Only played through ME1 once, but ME2 twice.

mineral mining is ajoke on the pc for me2 lol, i complained about it to my friend cuz i was on 360 and he was like "what are you smoking?" mining is easy (on the pc) then i googled me2 360 vs pc and i saw the videos@!

Batman and Tropico 3 are on sale. 7.50 for batman and 6 for tropico 3 gold edition
-
Just grabbed Batman AA. Amazing prize for the GOTY version.
-
Steam is the savior of pc gaming.... and blizzard, lol.

Today I can recommend Red Faction Guerilla and Batman: AA
Both are games I have spend a lot of time playing, but I think that it might be worth it to buy a PS3/xbox360 controller to play them, since they were both made to be played on the consoles.
The Flatout series is also pretty good but I wouldn't recommend it because it is really a multiplayer (in the same room) kind of game series (you need to be able to say "OMG YOU KILLED ME!" to the dude that smashed your car into the railing)
Monkey Island is great but if you've played it before I can't recommend the new once (since they offer nothing new).
Civ V and Dragon Age deserve a honourable mention for having entertained me this year, but they are both for an audience which knows to buy them at release so if you want them you probably have them already.

I thought about DA, but price is still bit much 20€, hmm if I just found some happy UK-bloke to help me out...
-
I paid 20€ for DA:O like 8 months ago (retail DVD-version). I was kind of wondering how it was 20€ at steam on this sale.

I got Recettear and Super Meat Boy.
Recettear is so cute but I haven't done much yet.
SMB makes me want to hurt someone. I use a controller for the PC to play it and my hands went numb playing it. Some parts make me want to scream.
It's infuriatingly fun if that makes sense.
-
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box is free for people in the UK at the moment.
yay (http://eastore.ea.com/store?Action=DisplayPage&IsGift=no&Locale=en_GB&SiteID=eaemea&id=ThreePgCheckoutShoppingCartPage)
And I had to pay 2€ for that. So wrong.
-
Hmm, and again bug, Witcher for 1€, now it's 4... Got my extra gift...
-
Picked up Witcher for $5, though I don't have a desk to use my mouse on.
-
I have resisted so far...
There were some tempting games, particularly over christmas when I was at home and had little to do except watchin disney movies with my girlfriend or watching the nba online...
Among heavy considerations were Risen for 15€, that indie pack with Braid and world of goo amongst others for like 25€ or sth and a few other cheap games like Batman AA and Alpha Protocol.
But meh. I just survived the shock of forgetting both my steam and starcraft II passwords and finally remembered them. This **** made it all too real to me, that in case I lose a stupid account info, I would loose money because I don't actually own the games, just the licenses.
So yeah it's tempting and the prices are often (not always mind you) sweet. But it's not for me thx.
Add to that that I could probably find similarly good deals if I searched in retail for a bit and it becomes moot in general. Just nice to be able to download a new games when all the shops are closed (like during christmas) but that's just a 2 day period so whateva :)
-
Today's deals aren't fantastic, I can definitely recommend Machinarium and Mirror's edge.
But the thing is Machinarium was in the Humble Indie Bundle #2 so hopefully you got it there.
Mirror's edge is unique and fun but gets kinda annoying by the end because it was advertised as a game with no shooting, but you really do have to shoot to get through it.
Honourable mention goes to Killing Floor for being a lot of fun when it released but being kinda dead now, I'd love to play it again but it seems people have moved on.
edit:
New deals have come along:
Doom is a must own pack, especially because of the amount of weird mods there are for Doom II.
DiRT 2 is an okay racer (I enjoyed the first one more).
Mount & Blade is probably the best large medieval combat simulator I have ever played, it's so and so with the RPG stuff, but the game has given me count-less hours of fun.
Today I bought Crysis because I want to try it and at that price I might as well.
Honourable mention today goes to the 2D indie pack, all of the games in it are good and at this price it is worth checking out.
-
Just Cause 2 is so much fun! Yesterday I hijacked a gun ship while taking fire and then hijacked an aeroplane in mid air which I used to assassinate a colonel and **** his wife! In her wulgina!
-
Got it for just 2 euro! Swell deal.
-
Everyone buy Mount and Blade: Warband.
That is just an example of the basic gameplay. The battles can scale all the way up to hundreds of combatants. Even in multiplayer.
This game is tons of fun!
-
Bought me Oddboxx (http://www.oddworld.com/?p=249)for ~12 euro about two weeks ago :)
-
Steam and keyboardporn is blocked at work due to mounting. Is there any story or any thing, or is it just mounting horse-style?
-
There is a rather large single player sandbox environment.
HUGE modding community. The amount of possible expansion in this game is ridiculous.

gta iv complete 10 dollars. I already owned the original game, but getting the complete edition is cheaper than buying episodes of liberty city by itself
-
Yeah, also bought GTA IV... Hmm, now how to get L4D2...
-
Just got GTA IV Complete Edition and L4D2 for almost 15€. Good deals.
