I don't think they age like wine. Or computers either.

Is the rusty lid of the can part of the appeal?

Have a great meal Pook!

My favorite is rum and eggnog and cinammon.  Yum!

You won't care too much about the rust when you open the can and look inside : )

I will be using clams, mussels and scallops too. Yummy stuff for sure.

I was drinking rum and eggnog last night....had a bit of a good time too.
The only downside to this time of year is the extra pounds I gain from eating...

Are you Chinese? I hear fish sauce is a south China thing. Supposed to be very good.

Chinese no, Greek and Italian, yes.

It is a regular tomato sauce, the scungillis make it a fish sauce, along with the scallops, clams and mussels.
I only have it once a year, as the scungillis are expensive, and Xmas makes it special.

Just finished my Christmas dinner a few hours ago. The center of attention every Christmas is a big ass ham.

Christmas ham cooked the same way is the main course on Swedish tables on Christmas Eve also. I have never seen it served with green peas, though.

I am a vegetarian, and instead of ham, I deep-fried some breaded tofu that had been seasoned with mustard and cloves.
BTW, Christmas Ham was the very last meat that I ever ate.

Might post some pictures of ours, when I get my USB-card reader in working condition. Still it might be the one meat I would choose if I had to choose last meat to eat ever, one fresh from oven, well overcooked...

Hey, not all of us believe that. In my family, fondue is traditional for new year's eats. And that has beef, pork and chicken. And half a dozen homemade sauces and beer dough.

Christmas is usually goose with dumplings and red cabbage.

Ass ham? Ewwww. I don't imagine the ass of a ham would taste very good, especially a big one.

I think that the rear end of the ham would taste the same as the rest of the ham ... because the ham is cut from the ass of the pig.

And by the way, if anyone is wondering about Swedish Christmas customs (although it is not likely that many people are), then I can tell you: Yes, Swedish meatballs is as much a must on the dinner table on Christmas Eve as breaded ham and aquavit.
I am a vegetarian, and even I always have meatballs, although mine are made from soy beans. Meatballs are often eaten together with beetroot salad (pickled beetroot in mayonnaise) on Christmas. We also eat red cabbage, and I believe that they do that in Denmark and Norway too.

You'd be surprised to find out just how much pig/cow rectum you've eaten if you've ever tasted this thing called sausage.
