I think that may be a rubber dome. There were some rubber dome M2s that were made without the weird border that appears on the most common rubber dome M2s.
Either way, $35 is not a good price for an M2 which may need to be fixed.

hmm... well, let this thread serve as a warning :(
caveat emptor!

I think these came with IBM aptivas. I got my rubber dome m2 with a neighbors old aptiva system. It's actually a suprizingly good rubber dome board, it's just not $35 good. I'm not positive, but it may use the same dome design as rubber dome model Ms.

I DO NOT LIKE APTIVAS. THEY ARE TERRIBLE. PC 300 was much more RAD dude.

I wonder...could you swap the domes with springs on a dome M2?
-
You can put springs in, but the keycaps wont be compatible.

I bought this for $20 (I was feeling generous). I have a M2 I refurbished with all new BS assemblies (springs/plates) that has the big case bottom. Buying this for the bottom case (and top, if it is in better condition).

You could've gotten one cheaper here (http://stores.pcgraffiti.org/-strse-147/IBM-PS-fdsh-2-Keybaord-Model-cln-/Detail.bok).
