Would you guys say that 100$ is a good price for one of those ? Mx Browns on a compact keyboard... in the U.S ...

This is a G86 and I would assume it has rubber dome keys. Are you sure?

It has really nice rubber dome sliders, greased from the factory (probably white lithium or similar). IIRC they have PBT keycaps too. 50x better than your typical rubber dome. Metal plate backed, too.

The flat profile and spherical keycaps take some time to get used to, though.

I don't wanna get roughed up by the topre crowd for saying this... but... hell, the typing experience is on-par with the realforce. there i said it. Imagine a 45-55g realforce with a flat profile, spherical keys, and wonky layout.

If you're looking for a space-saving keyboard with brown Cherry switches then keep your eyes out for Compaq MX11800 keyboards. They go for between $20 and $40.

He's got a G86-62410 EUAGSA. THe one I posted in the link above (first post) is a G86-62401 EUADAA.

FutureElectronics are not answering my question: does this keyboard have MX Brown switches ?  After reading the poll/wiki "Dating Cherry Keyboards" i've come to the understanding that the 6 letters after the G8X are important as they inform about the switches in the keyboard (and also other important aspect like Lasered keys etc).

PRISONER 24601: Thank you for your insights; what keyboard are you referring to? You seem to have a Ricercar G86 with MX Browns and not a Cherry Robber Dome keyboard?

WM: I'll try to put my hand on a MX11800 but atm they are all 40$+ on ebay(buy it now). Thanks

Look at the article number:

Don't know why they use a different catalog number irritatingly starting with G86.

If in doubt, ask the seller for a picture of the backside.

"G86" appears to be reserved for special 'boards.  I don't think it is intended to refer to a specific switch type like "G80" or "G84" does.
