Wow, awesome steal!
-
Yeah. Next step is new nuts, bolts, springs and hammers.
So much for spending Xmas money on a Leopold with blue MXes from elitekeyboards. Sorry majestouch.

Nice quick thinking jpc! That was a great buy. A bolt-modded space saver is probably most GHs' grail piece.
Good Ebay trick people. NowSharing is a Master Ebay Sensei.
That's great advice. Do a search + descriptions for the model # that you're after and get email updates for a year. Now wax-off.

Load up these product numbers into your searches:
- 1392934
- 1395217
- 1397681
- 4163600 (the ever elusive gray Industrial Mini)
I'm sure there are others but these I own (all NIB except for the Bernie Madoff Special with BigPooks Big PawPrints all over it).
Surely you jest : )
-
Does your wife call you "Pookie"?
lol, no one calls me Pookie : )
If only; you should hear some of the names I have been called : )
-
I am thinking Snooki from the 'Jersey Shore'. Not that I would ever watch that show.
But I have seen her picture on the interweb and quite frankly, she looks kind of skanky to me.
-
My coworker just asked me what I'm going to name the new keyboard. All SSKs must have names, that is a rule. So... Snooki? XD
-
Bambi, Thumper, Godzilla, and...Snooki. That sounds perfect. Much better than Carlton at least.
-
My Mini has a name too, Betty.

There was also this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=120665512679&si=AosYBujI4ZxonKj8Aj8Dm%252BfxmBY%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT) that mysteriously ended early and nobody, including myself, got to bid. 73$

Somebody won it!
I had a snipe set up for that one, and canceled it after picking up the other.
$73 is a good deal compared with prices over $100 a few months back. There may be some space saver deflation happening. It's still the king of keyboards, regardless of price.

I don't think that mini prices could deflate very easily, because of the lack of an increasing supply. Lower ending prices are usually matter of whether or not the auction is properly labeled. I bet that the $73 went for more than that, by means of a direct offer to the seller, which is why it ended early.
This one went for $125 in late Nov: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290502059728 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290502059728)

Nah. I'd have to call the Unicomp On-The-Ball Plus the king of keyboards. It's got buckling springs, a number pad, a trackpoint, and a trackball!

And the current comptekw2k mini is at 250$ already...
