Hey everyone. Decent time lurker, first time poster.
I just got home from university to find my new filco tenkeyless with blue cherrys waiting for me. Needless to say, I tore through the armygroup packaging and started playing around immediately.
Well, I started pulling keycaps and replacing them, just to try. Luckily I didn't break anything, but I'm curious as to the proper technique to replace the keycaps (not the spacebar like in the instructional from ripster).
I was just taking my thumbs on two corners and pressing down to get them snug. Too much pressure won't break anything inside of the switch or the switch itself will it?
Thanks for your help!

Sometimes you need to press down rather firmly to fully seat the key.
I think it would take quite a bit of force to damage the key and/or switch. Short answer, use as much force as necessary to fully seat the key. (assuming it is lined up properly)

Thanks that calms my woes of breaking my investment. Great site btw. Helped me out above and beyond with the amount of information available.

You should hear an audible pop sound as the key reseats itself. It can take a reasonable amount of force. Once it is seated you should know.

I don't so much hear an audible pop, but I can feel a slight bump. I actually did try the ruler trick already though from one of your other posts that I saw.

Blue switch will sound different if you didn't replace the keycaps properly.
