Title: Filco Tenkeyless
Post by: gun_sl1nger on Thu, 13 January 2011, 21:28:08
So I have a Filco Tenkeyless, blue cherry board, brand new.
I have just noticed it has a bow on the front (anterior aspect) of the Keyboard Case. Is this normal. It sits flush on the desk and appears uniform (not a deformed shape just a gradual slope, high on the left gradually dips towards the middle and high on the right, where the Filco label is stamped).
Looks as though it's manufactured that way? Is that right?

It is normal, fret not. All my Filco Tenkeyless have the slight dip. I think it may have been a conscious aesthetics decision to give it a more organic and less rigid feel, who knows.

I had just took a straight edge to it and found the OP to be correct. I had never noticed it before cause it is so slight. The dip is so small it can only fit a few pieces of paper in it.

Mine as well. It is very slight, maybe 2 mm at most in the middle. I honestly had never noticed till you pointed it out though. And yes I took a straight edge to it as well. Several in fact, just to invalidate ripster's attempt at invalidating everyone else :p
And a string. So ha!

I just thought it was odd. It's straight elsewhere.

Pics or it didn't happen! And good luck with that invalidating Ripster thing...
I can get some pics later when I am home. Left my Filco there today and regretting it immensely while I try to type on this HP board (http://images.harlander.com/upload/files/artikelbilder/computer/eingabegeraete/hp/sk-2885/1000x1000.jpg)
And my Tenkeyless is black.

Mine's like this too (black ANSI Tenkeyless w/blues). It doesn't affect function, but does allow for more crumb collection.
