Verkkokauppa.com will be introducing the Realforce 88UB (http://www.verkkokauppa.com/popups/prodinfo.php?id=36437) in SWE/FI layout soon. They have already listed this keyboard in their website. This is the variable weight model.
The price is 216.90€ which is just under $300. Am I right to presume this keyboard is based on the 87U? If so, I will most likely be picking one up myself.
Edit: I just pre-ordered one for myself. Also sent them an email asking if they know when they might be getting these lovely keyboards.
Edit2: These keyboards will most likely not be available before March, and Verkkokauppa.com only ships to Finland and Estonia.
-
Whats new in the 88UB ?
-
Well, I've never heard of a SWE/FI layout before.

one key, obviously. (http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:0qhjGrzzQVVNFM:http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/959/trollface.jpg)

If they can get something like that perhaps the keyboardco will get a German 88u as well. A man can dream... Gonna write Bruce an email about that.

That would be great news for people who are after ISO-layouts.
-
Yes you are right to assume that, iso has 1 more button then US.
Swe/Fin is also ISO so you GER people can order it aswell and just get some blank keycaps for extra awsome^^
-
I think that if you pay more than 200 Euro then you'd want your national layout on the keys... or at least all blank key caps.
-
So they didn't do changes like add nkro or something in there ?
Oh i see :/ just wondered.
-
Looking forward to seeing photos of this!

The announced delivery time is 4-6 weeks, but I'm first in line for one, so I'll post pics when I get mine.
The shop only delivers to Finland and Estonia sadly. If there are any Swedish people who would like to get one when they become available, I might be able to help.
-
Just got a reply from the shop. They say it will be at least a month before they can get these keyboards. It's going to be a long wait..
-
You could always sell your 105UFB to make up for it...
-
I'm also saving up already.
-
I guess it was easy for me to justify, since I don't already own a Topre. I told a few people that I pre-ordered this one, and they just laughed at the price :)
-
I guess i should start saving...
-
Whoa! Rollback that Filco I had looming on the horizon!
I just got a 105UFB some weeks ago from Verkkokauppa to serve as my night time keyboard. I am not a numpadista either, so... the price is a bit steep just to get rid of the sidefat though. Wonder how many 105UFBs will be on sale/trade here in a few weeks. :D
Speaking of price, what's up with the Blue-Lillac-WASD pack (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=13495)? The price has gone down again from a recent 2 euros, it's now at a mere 1.80. o_O

They want 20€ for shipping to Germany though...

I shipped out a couple of sets some time ago. They fly pretty lightly at 1.05 euros inside Europe and 1.50 to the US... I won't have time to head over there in the very near future though, perhaps someone else doing business there could send you a pack?
-
I would ask Julle...she offered to handle buying/shipping those for some other GeekHack members (and I think she did for a couple).
-
I'd be able to provide the same. I pass by this shop every day and could easily pick the sets up and mail to people who are interested.
-
I will be picking 6 sets of these keys tomorrow and will post a classifieds after I get them. Feel free to PM me if you're interested. Also if there are more than 6 PM's by tomorrow, I'll just pick more of those sets.
-
Awesome! Thanks for doing this!
-
db_Iodine - would you be willing to do the same with their other Topre keycap sets? (If I recall they have green, red and yellow). If so, could you estimate a total with shipping to the USA?
-
Took my place behind db_Iodine in the pre-order queue. Unless I suddenly feel very rich, I'm probably going to sell my now two-week old 105UFB once I feel certain enough that Verkkokauppa will indeed have the goods according to schedule. If anyone is preliminary interested, please PM me.

The other sets cost 29.90€ which isn't all that cheap for the keys they offer. The total would climb up to about 34-35€ (about $46).

So where from all these finns are popping up?
Hmm, topres aren't for me, sadly...

So where from all these finns are popping up?
From the sauna, would be my guess ;)

We are the original troll nation.
I wouldn't be sad not having to spend over 200€ (~$300) on a keyboard.

Nice price but the goddamn ISO layout kills the deal. I wonder if one could get US ANSI boards via them?
-
I have recently come to the conclusion that the ISO enter key is not that bad once you get used to it.

They only specialize in introducing these extremely wonderful keyboards in SWE/FI layout. If you want ANSI, you're going to have to look elsewhere.

The variations of nazi zombies you use in your avatar fascinates and frightenes me at the same time.
-
Let us know when this is coming closer to your doorstep please :) Im really looking for a tenkeyless topre in swe layout.
-
While you're waiting, I have a question. What is a Hideoosoo Hikikomori?
-
It's "Hideous hikikomori" and the meaning of the word hikikomori is well described in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikikomori).
-
It has been 5 weeks, estimated time was 4-6 weeks. Any moment now.
I think I've been waiting for long enough to ask them again if this is going to take even longer. I'll hit them with an email about this and post their reply here when I get one.
-
Oooh. Nude Uma Thurman.
In LEGO form.
-
Right. Just got a reply from Verkkokauppa, and they told me the keyboard has been delayed, and that they could begin distribution at the end of May. I might have to look what The Keyboard Company can offer me before that (if they can).
Edit: I just got too impatient about my first Realforce and ordered the 86UB from The Keyboard Company. In the best case scenario, I'll have a brand new Realforce with me this week!
-
Congrats dude! Great choice.
-
Congrats! can't wait your review
-
Nice that you finally get one :) Too bad about the delay on the 88 key swe/fin since i really wanted that one. I might have to get the same as you ^^.
-
Cool :) Now i just have to travel to Finland Oo
-
Is there any white tenkeyless topre keyboard with swe/fi layout?
Black is not as pretty.
-
Verkkokauppa.com only ships to Finland and Estonia.[/B]
Are you 100% sure about this. I managed to buy a 105 key realforce from them shipping to sweden. It wasn't easy, they didn't give google translate an easy time... They might have changed their mind about shipping to sweden I suppose.
Cool :) Now i just have to travel to Finland Oo
Send them an e-mail and ask if they won't ship to you. Their site is next to impossible to navigate without understanding finnish =P
-
i asked them once and they said they can ship to France...
-
I have a finnish friend who lives in sweden, so ill ask him to navigate the site for me and ask them if they can ship to sweden etc :) I would also love a white one, but as long as its tenkeyless and in swe layout im happy!
-
When I ordered I managed to navigate all the way through the process. Now I didn't quite make it past the shopping cart. Seemed to me like you have to get an account or something to be able to check out but I don't remember doing that last time. Then, at least, I could pick ruotsi (sweden) somewhere along the way =)
