Title: Various NMB mechanical keyboards
Post by: Neccros on Wed, 02 February 2011, 13:20:49
Excuse me Im not as up on keyboards as some of you but I do know I prefer mechanical keyboards... LOL

In the past I started a stash of NMB mechanical switch keyboards and now I need to get rid of them.

I have approx 6-8 of them and dont know precise details but if you might be interested, PM me and I will help you with any questions you might have.

I'm only half interested.

Do you have any with a split spacebar (one key is backspace)?

No I don't...  back then I wasn't a fan of small space bars or windows keys

Can anyone suggest a keyboard or type of switch thats similar or exactly like the NMB "space invader" switch???  I like the weight and the crispness of the end of the stroke of the key and would like to find a modern keyboard similar to these...

Thanks

People have stated that clicky space invaders are quite similar to MX blues, FWIW.

Yes, blues and nmb space invaders are pretty similar in feel.  Both are excellent.  So you have your choice of a bunch of modern keyboards.  If you live in the USA, the Rosewill RK-9000 would be a great place to start.

How do the clicky NMB switch feel after actuation? Is it just as light as the Cherry Blue?

Since I'm retarded, the best I can say is it is a clean stroke with a nice crisp feel at the bottom of the keystroke...

That's how I describe it but I'm sure its wrong in the keyboard world... LOL

I REALLY wish there was a person in the LA area that has a Cheery Blue keyboard I can test or a store that actually sells decent keyboards.  I am not dropping 150 on a keyboard until I can "test drive" one...

I recently acquired a space invader board, and it is pretty fun. I would say that actuation force is slightly higher than blues, but they sound very similar. Mine is a tad quieter I believe. The click is a little more solid feeling than a blue, mainly because of the insane steel plate that they are mounted on in my case. After doing a usb mod, my keyboard has 5kro. Kind of weird I know, but on keyboard tests it can do ANY 5 keys, no matter which ones are pressed. I couldn't find any combination that allowed more or less.

If you have a good model M keyboard for sale, I am definitely interested.  I need one for a co-worker and she is willing to spend about $50.00 including shipping.  The model year is not important, but it must have a PS2 connector and be complete.
