So, I recently got my hands on an old Chicony board, a 5191...i had read to expect either the round smk or the alps lookalike montereys. These don't look like either, has anyone else seen these before?
Im guessing a Cherry copy, since they have the same stems. Tactile, but stiff and not clicky like MX blacks.

Normally 5191s come with either original blue Cherry switches or somewhat stiffer Taiwanese clones. Looks like you've found another variant. Can't remember ever having seen these.
EDIT: Looks like green Mitsumis (http://www7.ocn.ne.jp/~hisao/jiku.htm) but with a Cherry-compatible stem. Exotic, but not that unusual for Chicony - they also used Futabas with a modified stem.
BTW, "tactile" and "somewhat like MX blacks" (which are linear, not tactile)?
