I realized there is another thread here about a chair, but that is interested in chairs that cost more than my studio monitor
At most I'll spend $200, if that. I'll need some convincing for that.
My current chair is uncomfortable, especially amplified due to my aspergers.

Go to staples/walmart/ikea and sit in a bunch, buy the best one you like/can afford.
alternately you could check craigslist in your area for better USED chairs.
No one here will actually RECOMMEND a sub 200 dollar chair, Im pretty sure, and any chair in that range is likely just as good/crappy as the next.

It's only Assburgers that amplifies chair discomfort.
True, but my current is sorta odd and has no armrests :(

z, i am glad you were not insulted by ripsters play on words. i am sure having that is hard.
a sub $200 chair is really not going to be better than what you have unless yours is sub $50 and falling apart. i think good chairs start around $800 usd. i am not being a snob, it is just a fact. i sit on my butt like 13 hours a day so ergonomics are important to me. as everyone knows i use an aeron but at that price you should be real sure about what you are buying. never mail order that sort of thing. plus with chairs like that you have to get the right size.
under $200 i'd try iklea. besides not being great out of the box sub $200 chairs simply do not last. hey, maybe try hon. if they have one for under $300 it will at least be a real office chair.

Ikea is definitely your best bet. Their chairs are quite good at the 150-200 range.
I bought a $40 chair from Ikea. Sit on my butt in it for 5-6 hours a day. It works fine. Not comfortable/ergonomic but it does the job. I'm sure a $150 Ikea chair will be fantastic.
Also...go on a Tuesday. $2.99 meatballs FTW. Get the lingonberry sauce and 5 extra meatballs...trust me.

Ok, I'll check it out, thanks guys.

Not sure if you've already bought something, but I'm also in the market for a cheaper office chair (just can't justify $800+... and I don't work from home).
I found this chair that got excellent reviews... Ergo Value Mesh Medium Back Task Chair (http://www.overstock.com/Office-Furniture/Ergo-Value-Mesh-Medium-Back-Task-Chair/3861788/product.html). They also sell it on Amazon, if that's your preference (a bit more expensive).
Anyway.. I went ahead and ordered it. Should be here Tues. If I get 2 years out of it, I'll be happy.

You can find good chairs by the side of the road, but make sure you don't pick up a chair on a rainy day.
This is my chair.
