Title: Irony
Post by: microsoft windows on Sat, 19 February 2011, 16:39:30
Apple has a section  on their web site about ergonomics! (http://www.apple.com/about/ergonomics/index.html)

But I think it dates to back  when they made these.

Love my m1242.  Really fun to type on occasionally for a different feel.  Low profile alps are pretty nice.

Are you  talking about the Apple  split  keyboard? I don't  know their model  numbers too well.

I  have  one of those old Apple keyboards with the  IBM  layout, which  has the orange ALPS switches.  It's a good-feeling  keyboard. It's in pretty rough shape though. One of the ADB ports is  busted, but that's no big deal. It works pretty well  other than that.

Turns out that the fossilized ergonomics section is still up!

That's the only way the current Apple Corp (he he) can capture new customers (victims)  :thumb: .

I'll have to switch back to Nostalgia theme when I get my Nostalgia keyset...

Now I want to grab my M1242! I think I used the keyboard exclusively for a week or so after I got it and came to enjoy the board. Now I want to give it another try.

And I have no idea where my ADB to USB adapter is.

Did that ergo Apple board have Alps switches?

I think they're low profile alps, as chimera15 said. I really liked the feel.

A lot of the old Apple keyboards had pinkish ALPS switches if I remember right. I'll have to look at one of mine once I get home from work.

THEY USED TO MAKE THE "E-MATES" ABOUT A DOZEN YEARS AGO SO PEOPLE COULD PLUG THEIR OLD ADB BARCODE READERS INTO LATER COMPUTERS. MIGHT HAVE SOME LUCK FINDING ONE OF THOSE.
