The 9200 is NOT ALPS.  I broke down one recently.  The keycaps are ALPS compatible, and double-shot, but the switches are slider-over-something.

Interesting, are they a type of simplified Alps, or something completely different?

Nope, they look nothing like ALPS.  It looks like a plastic plug that probably went over a dome of some sort.

That's strange, because if you look on this one's box, it definitely lists tactile, clicky mechanical switches. Maybe you had a different board.
