Title: Key/Case Yellowing
Post by: BlackFalcon448 on Mon, 07 March 2011, 17:25:51
Hey guys, I think I am posting this in the right section. Anyway I recently acquired an AEKII and noticed that the space bar and upper case are yellowed. I was wondering if there was an way to safley remove the discoloring or if i will just have to deal with it. It's kind of hard to tell by the pics, but it's much more pronounced in person.
P.S. I got the keyboard with a power macintosh 7600/132 which has much worse yellowing. If has the same type of plastic maybe I could clean it in the same way...?

'Clairoxide', that's a Hairdressers-product right ? It may contain, for key-caps and hairdressers, undesirable chemical additives AFAIK . The recommendation is to use min 10-14% hydrogen-peroxide, however it may be problematic to find it these days as it can apparently be used by Al-Cracker to produce exploding shoes and underwear .. If you do find it : WEAR GOGGLES AND CHEMICAL GLOVES !! I **** you not, this stuff eats your skin and/or eyes !!
