Title: RK-9000 gone for good?
Post by: synack on Mon, 07 March 2011, 21:13:07
I know it's been deactivated before on Newegg but doesn't this seem a bit longer than usual?

After almost losing mine today due to a water leak I'm seriously considering a spare...  Leopold seems like it may be a nice alternative, though I am a fan of the numpad.

If you are willing to wait for around 2 months, they should have a fullsize by then.

I'm waiting for a full size myself but I already have a Filco brown full size in the mean time.

I should hope so.  I am quite eager to try the Rosewill out.

I'm pretty sure he meant that EK will have fullsize Leopold's in stock by then.

The RK-9000 was almost deactivated for 3 months before this short term.

It'll be back I'm sure.

Email Rosewill about it - they'll respond to you in 1-4 days or so. Generally they've provided rough estimates for stock dates in the past.

In the meantime, use Changedetection (http://www.changedetection.com/monitor.html) on Newegg and Chiefvalue's product pages for the RK-9000 so you don't have to check manually - it'll email you when a substantial page change occurs (e.g. not just 39 reviews to 40 reviews). The change in HTML for activated/deactivated items should trigger it. It always does on Chiefvalue- I'm not tracking Newegg myself.

I did email them about this item about a week and a half ago. They said that it was out of stock and that they did not speculate on potential stocking for it.

In fact, here's what I got from "Ruby" on Feb 26:

Emailing Newegg is different from emailing Rosewill even though it is a house brand. Different group of people read the email.

Email sales@rosewill.com instead.

You'd be amazed the crap that people find when a new keyboard ships.  The Das 3 Keyboard is the classic example around here.

Good point. There are already complaints about the new Filcos (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?p=307929#post307929).

Or as I like to call them, "FelchCo's".

Lol.  The Leopold hasn't SHIPPED YET.  The RK-9000, even though it has a different controller than a Majestouch 1, was banged around a lot.

Don't be a Moogle.

It hasn't shipped in the USA yet. They've been out for a while.

I emailed rosewill and they emailed me back really fast. It was like 30 minutes after I sent my email.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thanks for your interest in Rosewill products.  RK-9000 may not be available for few months.
