Feel free to point to other threads. I did a quick search and didn't find any.
If you are a business owner, don't tell us how many boards in the warehouse or on the floor for your employees... The question is really geared for end users and collectors.
-
I'd say 10 in my room, 1 in the office and 3 in the living room.
-
Surprising that I need to actually guide you to MW's poll (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=13394) about this.
Oh wait, the poll's closed. Never mind me then.
I own 6 keyboards with 2 or 3 more planned.

Nice catch - Results from that poll

Only 3, oh wait 1 in post and one ordered... that's 5, plus numpad...
-
all my mech boards are filcos :/
1 fullsize black
1 fullsize brown (on the way, bought from isotopes59 here yesterday)
1 tenkeyless red (ordered from amazon this morning)
1 tenkeyless brown
1 tenkeyless blue
for rubber domes, I still have a logitech wave, logitech ultra-x, and other generic microsoft/logitech boards. I also have a wireless logitech keyboard for the wii :)
-
Just 3 so far, but only one is good and one seems to have gone lost, so one and a half, really.
Got two coming up within a week or so though, and god knows how many after that.

Lol, Pray the Lord my friend.
We can pray Santa too if you think it can help as well.
;-)
-
Only 1 mechanical so far... But this is getting scary.
-
By switch type, counting laptops, not counting phones...
ALPS CM: 1
Cherry MX: 1
Beam spring: 1
Buckling spring: 4
Plate spring: 1
Scissor+rubber dome: 3
Rubber dome: 4 (including one with springs on top of the domes)
Whatever switches The Keyboard Company used on the Apple ][ Plus keyboard: 1
Whatever switches they used on the Apple //c keyboard (not the Alps oranges): 2
Really crappy Taiwanese linear switches: 1
So, that's 19. 15 if you don't count the laptops.
-
Only 1 mechanical so far... But this is getting scary.
Why's that?
-
including one with springs on top of the domes
Wait, why does it sounds so familiar?
Oh... right... That's your avatar.
-
Nope, not my avatar.
My avatar is a beam spring.
The Apple Keyboard II uses springs over domes.
-
Hmm, I need to get MX blues next, also looking on fake alps, then I can start collecting alps.
It does look kinda bad...
-
Buckling spring : 1
Cherry MX-Black : 2
Rubber domes : House filled with em.
-
Why's that?
Seeing the poll result comibned with a fact, that i am a member of this forum. The odds are againts my wallet.

Are you use the original 70g spring with the clears?
-
The springs are original...but I believe they are 55g right?
-
Clears activate at 55g, and 70g to buttom out.
Have you tried them with the red springs?
-
Nope.

You're really picking up the phase, are you. Which keyboards have you ordered? The one with clears I remember but what's the other?
-
1 Model M and a shedload of rubber domes that somehow ended up with me
-

ML, got my ML keypad(Cherry's software is annoying btw) and other one ML Compact with some type of mouse...
G84 4400, I posted on other thread...
Got rid of my Xkeys though... Lost the price of shipping in process, but I'm not one who collects old machines...
-
I own two, as you can see in my signature (and not counting rubber domes). I will own five in total by the end of next year; just have to budget as I am only a poor student.
So, eventually, I hope to own:
Realforce 87UB _OR_ the HHKB 3 (when it comes out)
KBC Poker w. MX Red
PLU M-87 Otaku White w. blues
That should complete my journey, I think. To be honest, I am so happy with the feel of my MX Blacks after a month of use that I am loath to move to any other keyboard at the moment.
-
Rosewill RK-9000
Noppoo Choc Cherry Mini
Cherry G81-7000HPBUS-2
8 or so rubber dome boards
Oh, and ordered a Leupold Otaku
-
7 as of right now. 5 gray label model Ms, 3 - 1987s, 1 - 1989 and 1 - 1992 (one of the 87s is dead), 1 KB-8923 and a generic POS I'm getting ready to throw out. Plus I have another 92 model M that is supposed to be delivered in 2 more days.
-
4 mechanical keyboards: 3 browns and 1 model M.
4 or 5 rubber domes.

Hmm, got the G84 4400 mouse is trackball, haven't connected it though. So 4 now and one in order.
Also I got one MS ruberdome and have stored a few at my parents...
-
Including donor boards, I think about 7 or 8.
-
Just the ones in my sig, so 5 (6 if you count the one on my Thinkpad). A Filco red tenkeyless is on the way.
-
I own 2 IBM SSK
1 IBM Model F
1 IBM Selectric III
3 IBM m13

My first pc owned entirely by my own work was Q9300+4870 and 8GB ram, with 22" Lenovo monitor. Actualy it's still my main rig ;D
-
my first pc was something with a 386...the first computer i ever bought with my own money was a pionix with a p3 667mhz, 64mb of ram, and a 16mb nvidia vanta or something along those lines

2 x G19 logitech rofl
1x ducky 1087
2x some generic standard with computer ****,
so 5 in total.
-
My first CPU was an Intel 80286.
-
First computer was an Apple //c. 66 MHz? Bah, young whippersnappers. 1.020 MHz. (1.023 is the max speed, but every 65 cycles, the video system inserts a long cycle.) 128 kiB RAM. Single 140 kiB floppy drive. Aww yeah.
First computer I paid for... hrm. I want to say it was a ThinkPad R51e (before then, I used lots of hand-me-down computers), 1.4 GHz Celeron M, I think 768 megs of RAM. Nothing special.
-
Well my name needs to be doom then..
3.33gHz >_>

WHY? Oh why would someone torture themselves and their wallets with two of those monsters? Oh wait, it wasn't your wallet, right?

Also they might procreate...

All 3 keyboards I use are mechanical now. Blackwidow Ultimate at work and two Filcos at home. I have a stack of about 6 membrane (4 IBM and 2 Dell) keyboards in the closet.

- Filco tenkeyless black
- Filco tenkeyless blue
- Filco tenkeyless red
- Leopold FC200RT/AB
- Noppoo Choc Mini MX blue
- Ducky 1087
- ABS M1
- IBM M2
- IBM M4-1
- Logitech G15
- Logitech G19
- Logitech Wave (mouse + keyboard)
- Logitech S510 (cordless)
- Logitech diNovo (cordless)
-
Thirteen I think, not including the one built into my minty TRS-80 Model 4 (what kind of switches are those I wonder?) and two good 'uns enroute from EK.
Of course, only two of the thirteen are worthy of this crowd, my Realforce and Unicomp, the others are mainly aluminum Apples, or older Apple keyboards that came with those machines I've collected, or they were thrown in as free "extras".
-
Apple //c ...128 kiB RAM
Luxury.
-
/me suspects this will quickly devolve into people saying that their first computer was a CARDIAC, and they had to pay someone to take it when it was time to upgrade, and their dad killed them when they got home

My first computer was a TRS-80 model 1. I was working at Radio Shack when they first came in78 or 79. I had all of the peripherals which included the cassette tape drive, the upgrade to 16 K of memory, monochrome VGA monitor and eventually I had the expansion to 64 K of mamory along with the additional floppy drive bay that held 2 disks. The entire thing was huge by today's standards. The only reason I bought it was that as side work, I was writing programs in BASIC for clients who bought a computer and needed something specific, either for their business or as in one application, a guy wanted a program that would display 8 "windows" all showing different results for hif horse racing formula. That was the most luctative program I wrote. I ended up making enough to completely pay for the computer and all of the upgrades, about $4,000.00. Ah, those were the days.

... monochrome VGA monitor ...
Now that's where the flux capacitor was first used!

Did you wrote the VHF?

I have:
Acer x1
ALPS x2
BS x1
ML x4
MX x1
Rubber dome x4
Possibly another 2 to add to that list by the end of the week, may be throwing a few out as well though.
-

Do you see dead people?
I wonder how they can talk about it if they're dead.
-
I didn't count laptops, blackberries, A/V remotes and other things with button.
Can I consider my LS-430 steering wheel a keyboard as well?
It certainly has a load of buttons and switches

*whoosh*
-
Too many. I'd say about a dozen and change, err, parts.
Lessee - 3x BS (M), 3x MX black, 2x MX clear, 1x MX blue, 1x ML, 1x Alps white, 1x Alps black, 1x Acer, 1x Futaba, 3x MY (not including 1 parts donor), 1x rubber dome. That would be like... 18 working boards. Oh crap.
-
BTW it looks like Microsoft Home Server has become the next Microsoft Bob. I was thinking of using my old Core Duo rig for one but the idiots dropped Drive Extender. (http://www.infopackets.com/news/business/microsoft/2010/20101130_microsoft_to_drop_drive_extender_from_windows_home_server.htm)
Yeah. ****ing stupid of them to drop drive extender.
-
I've got
Canon 6311 (like an acer apparently)
Black Dell AT101
BS
AEKII
2 rubber dome (only counting ones that are actually owned by me, otherwise number would be much higher for the house)
2 laptops - so scissor switches.
-
I have 2 mechanicals (in my sig) plus a g15 v1 that is one step from the trash (or tear down) and a Logitech Wave Pro. The wave is my couch board, so it can stay for now.
I would like some novelty boards, or additional ones to put different key sets on. Since I don't have a lot of extra space (or cash) I think I'm sticking with only owning boards with specific purposes for now.
-
*whoosh*
Marty Feldman was a comic genius.
Thanks for reminding that to me.
-
1x Model M (who ever needs more than one?)
1x Deck Legend (MX Black)
1x Filco 104 (MX Brown)
3x rubber domes (Dell, MS, one 82-key something)
I need to buy more keyboards. I would snap up that MX Red Filco TKL on Amazon if I hadn't just got two parking tickets.
-
At the John Cleese concert he showed a clip from when he worked with Marty - great stuff you can't get on YouTube.
Lucky you! Is the back side of the T-Shirt real or you made it up?
Anyway, you scared me for a second. I honnestly tought he was dead.
I really like him too.

I was 18 , so I just thought it was mosltly fun. All the money I spent on that computer and it's all gone. The money and the computer are all gone. But at the time, I did pretty well. Hell, I never even knew how these things really worked internally. All I knew how to do was write programs in BASIC. Now, sadly, I have no idea where to begin. I only wish I had stayed in programming.
