And the price ouch.

Partly glad it isn't ISO, so I don't feel obliged to get one...

I know it's a personal preference thing, but I was just in Italy for a week and as a 'MURIKAN I could not stand the ISO layout in Italy. It greatly hampered me. I don't get the point of the miniscule backspace and HUGE enter key.

That's not to say that Europe doesn't do things I like. Bidets are awesome.

Aww, I bought one with brown switches not long ago (ANSI to get a proper enter key, even though I use a Swedish layout). Now I kindof regret it. Oh well, I guess the tactile bumps will wear off after some years of use :)

The damn ANSI layout is so tempting. Almost want to press the purchase button. Sort of a good thing I ordered a Realforce from them just yesterday. Can't afford to buy one right now.

Not anything against the enter, more that it's functionaly inferior layout due to lacking key compared to ISO...

I think the Italian layout should have the same size Backspace key as the normal ISO and ANSI layouts.

If you're talking about the "<>|"-key you can just remap those characters to other keys. There's lots of empty space for Alt Gr combinations.

Meh, if you use US International you get AltGr and dead keys. Remapping the function of the 105th key is not hard and using AltGr to get that key is not really a hindrance either.

Saying 105 keys is better than 104 keys is like saying a tricycle is better than a bicycle because of the additional wheel... the extra key is not automatically useful. I'd argue that the layout changes are a greater hindrance than the additional key is helpful.

Hmm, have to see, , . - < > |

Might do the trick...

So anyone want to sell me blues for 10€+shipping in ansi? ;D

And ofcourse Japanese got the most superior layout. ;D

I think the Italian layout should have the same size Backspace key as the normal ISO and ANSI layouts.

I went to several Italian internet cafes - in Spoletto, Florence, and Rome - and I found 2 keyboards like this image (from Wikipedia):

The rest had the dwarf backspace.

Also, one was QZERTY, which screwed me up even more.

All were naturally terrible rubber domes.

Most internet cafe machines had admin permissions and a ****load of spyware. I ended up using a throwaway Google Voice account to keep in touch with my family in the US instead (and later I just picked up a Telecom Italia Mobile SIM, threw it into my AT&T phone, and used Rebtel to get cheap calling back in the US.) So I didn't really check my email or hop on Geekhack - I'm sure I was being keylogged...

Yeah, if you're buying in the UK I suggest you try and order via a business so you don't have to pay VAT - 20% sales tax sucks. I didn't realise I could actually do this until a friend told me he never pays VAT on things like this because he gets everything via his father's company.

Cheaper than buying one of those rinky dinky lightweight Cherry Corp Cherry Red keyboards.  Now THAT was overpriced.

Maybe, but that's subjective to opinion. In my humble opinion, a red switch in the spacebar is a dealbreaker.

not sure what's opinion about it, fact of the matter is it cost me nearly $200 all said and done to get a G80-3494 shipped to me.  For $165 I can now get a Filco board that won't feel like I can easily snap it in half.

The Cherry board was overpriced for the total package, but it was one of the only options for cherry reds.

Of course we can also argue that this board is overpriced when the black switch tenkeyless Filco is $25 less and EKB about to sell tenkeyless Leopolds for $65 less.

Whether or not the overpricing is worth it is subject to opinion :)

There's free two-day shipping as well if you go for the Amazon Prime one-month trial.

I've managed to avoid this site for six months. I thought that my bank account was safe and sound, but I couldn't resist. I guess once you go mech, you never go... beck.

Students get Amazon prime for free, that can be shared with 4 other addresses. elbowglue became my adoptive brother and hopped on my Amazon Prime, the rest were shared among my family.

That prime doesn't include the video streaming, unfortunately.

I'll hold off until Amazon gives me my money from a return, then I'll order it :p Technically it'll only be $100 then!

Before I modded mine to a clear switch, I would always hit the space bar whilst gaming accidentally (picture gaming fps and wildly hopping around every now and then) :D

They do have a storefront on amazon.co.uk, it's just not 'fulfilled' through amazon, so you don't get supersaver shipping and so forth. I do think the price difference (even ex-vat) is a little too high, however, between UK and US customers with the Filco Red switches...

Sorry, my responses are slow this week, been spending a bit of quality time.
The answer is yes, but I really don't know when at this stage.

I think you will be obliged to get an ISO one!
