Whats your preference? Filco style? or Cherry style? I personally prefer the Cherry way for the fact that it is much easier to put the cap back on, even for a bit of sacrifice on the typing feel. This is probably a oldy topic to discuss about, but if you don't mind :) please share your opinion.

I definitely prefer Filco style, (costar style?), the cherry style is no doubt easier to maintain, but hey you ain't gonna change your keycaps every day right.
-
I hate the cherry style stabilizer, but I have not tried the costar one yet.
-
Cherry-style ones are fine IMO. I'm not particularly a fan of Filco keyboards in general though.

bad memories? What's wrong with them?

I owned a tenkeyless with browns before and...I dunno. I didn't like the look of it, it was too noisy for a keyboard with cherry browns, and I hated the ringing sound it made when I typed. I dunno, they're just not for me. Overall I think they're decent keyboards.
Although this is concerning (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?p=307929#post307929).

That's why you don't get an ISO keyboard!
on a serious note, you should definitely give Filcos another shot, maybe when the majestouch 2 comes to mass production. They are still by far the most well-built 'board with MX's for the money. Maybe you were just unlucky and got a bad one :(
-
It was ANSI layout, not ISO. I dunno though, I'm quite happy with the keyboards I have now though and don't really need anymore :P

Oh I was referring to that problematic Filco you posted in the link. That one sure looks like an ISO ot me.
-
Ahh yea lol - I meant the Filco I once owned was ANSI =)
-
That was not a serious problem and easy to fix. It can happen with any keyboard.
-
BTW, Majestouch 2's are already here (http://www.amazon.com/Majestouch-2-Tenkeyless-NKR-ASCII-Switch/dp/B004OX7R28/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1299636953&sr=1-3).

I'd rather wait for the KBC tenkeyless alu case.

I know the sound you're talking about, my friend's Filco with browns does it. My Filco with blacks doesn't and the Filco with browns I just bought doesn't do it either (thank god).

Weird...yea other's mentioned there's didn't do it too. Much be a QC issue with Filco.
