It looks like this http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=9025172863 is an improved version of the Noppoo Choc Mini 84
But I can't figure out if the item is actually an improved version or if they just advertise it's coming..
The top picture is brown/grey on black keys. The other pictures shows white on black
Can someone understand it?

hehe
Keyboards, you know?
-
Only difference I can see from the photos is the key lettering looks different - more white.

They made it look like double shots with brighter fonts for contrast. But they're laser engraved aren't they?
-
Translation from a pinyin translation via Google:
"NOPPOO Choc Mini 84 keyboard, improved edition is just the uniformity of the font and lettering, they're all laser engraved
Black and blue switched priced at 399, brown switched priced at 469
POM key caps, laser engraved
USB n-key rollover [completely free of conflict] design
Multimedia, Win-key locking
Key caps and layout equivalent to Cherry 3000 series, interchangeable
However, we don't recommend pulling key caps, key caps are rather tight, it's easy to break key stems!"
EDIT: Actually the direct English translation is pretty good in this case.

i can read simplified Chinese but i don't have a original noppoo,
i cant tell the difference between them.

There's a whole series of shots like that over at cuteoverload.com. Just look for the ones tagged "Cats 'n' Racks".
Here's the original:

Pulling key caps not recommended?? Hell, the first thing I would have done was switch out the key caps if I had bought one. :P
-
Hopefully the lettering doesn't rub off as quick as the first version did.
-
Those pictures in the taobao listing you provided are just some "spy shots" prior to the actual choc mini release. Neither the original Choc Mini nor the newer version looks like that.
It says it's indeed the new "improved version" and it's most likely true, they have already halted the production on the old model a while ago, every choc mini shipped since January has been the newer version.
They've changed two things on the new Choc Mini:
1. The letter printing on scrolllock, switchlock, and capslock keycaps are revised to match the rest of the keycaps.
2. thinner wire stabilizer under space bar. (Because some had reported that the older space bar had problems bouncing back to its unpressed position due to the thickness of that stabilizer wire).

Haven't seen anyone with this problem, including myself.
-
I think they also fixed shift and enter.
-
i would love a white version.
a version with doubleshots would also welcome
-
That is hawt.
-
Although this may be the new version, I still do not recommend you buy from this seller whose reputation rating is lower than the average.(on the right side of that page)
-
I believe there is only one version ever available on the market, that is the 'improved' version. The one with brighter lettering keycaps is a prototype to my knowledge.

I'd rather call it the first revision and the current model second revision.
-
The first revision still has NKRO over USB, iirc?

Yes. fssbzz bought the first revision and made a review of that.

No, like db_iodine said, tons of people bought the first version, go to the review section.
-
All the noppoo mini available is the 2nd edition which is so call "Improved version in the taobao". The 2nd edition is debut in the early of the 2011.
-
I asked one of the sellers
he said the only improvement is noppoo changes the color of three function keycaps (which were ink printed)on the top of right as same as the rest of keycaps, now the new version mini keycaps are all laser printed.
images can be seen here:

Must have been really early January since I ordered mine on December 31st and got the "second revision" keyboard.
-
The space key could be changed so how as well, but I can't be sure.
-
Actually, what do you want the most feature in the next version of Noppoo Mini?
-
meh they have a disclaimer over pulling keycaps.. big lost of interest there for me..
-
I see volume up/down, fwd/rev, and close window multimedia FNs. Why isn't there a press/play FN? Also, I'd like to see the num pad include a division key. The addition (+) is covering up the (?, /) key. Lastly, I wish the backside stands had rubber or something to grip the ground better to keep the board from moving. I like everything else.
-
I will told your comment to the Noppoo. And I would like know how many ppl will have interest if Noppoo debuts a Topre Keyboard?
-
i would like to have alternate keycaps with doubleshots.
also a complete white version would be nice.
instead of a topre version first it should be a version with cherry mx red.

If they can do it for a low price like the choc mini, sure.
