I am looking at the Leo Brown for my Mom's first mechy board and frankly, her first kb period. I selected Brown for a less aggresive switch/intro to mechys.
Then, I thought I'd like her to have a full sized board instead and found this Brown on Amazon:

Your thoughts?

Well, to quote myself from elsewhere onto the branched thread:
Assuming the product description is to be believed, then the only feature it lacks is true NKRO. I can't foresee any reason for anyone but a hardcore gamer of one of a couple of genres (FPS and rhythm games, mostly) will ever need anything closer to NKRO.
Of course, that does suggest that the circuitry and controller necessary to provide NKRO cost Diatec something on the order of $30 which strikes me as more than a little absurd. Since it is so absurd, it is also possible that this keyboard may be "lesser" in some other respects not mentioned in the product description. If you want to be absolutely sure, I'd shoot a message over to the owner of KeyboardCo through their own website.
I did check their website but couldn't find a similar product on offer there, so this appears to be an "Amazon-exclusive," so to speak. While I'm sure you could find it on sale on a Korean site like PCHome or ArmyGroup, I wouldn't trust the Google-Translated description there to give you a clear picture as to why this keyboard costs 20% less than its counterparts.
I don't really have a strong opinion on the Leos yet because I don't know what sort of filtering EK has done to their stock or what sort of improvements or modifications they've convinced the manufacturer to make to the keyboards at large. Until we get a few units into the US through them, it'll be hard to speak in any real terms about their actual quality, although I would say that the owner of EK appears to be a very trustworthy and cool guy here on the forums at least, and his work with Filcos in the last couple of years was fantastic.
If you think you might wait for a Leo anyway, why not take the time to email Bruce from KeyboardCo and see what's up with that cheapo Filco? Either way, you won't get a keyboard immediately, but if the non-NKRO Filco checks out, you can still order and have it sooner than you'd be able to with the Leo :)

I gave my mum my Filco with blues because it just wasn't getting used by myself. She knows nothing about mechanical keyboards and she says her brain zones out when I try explaining keyboards to her. But she likes it because "it sounds like the old typewriter I used to have when I was a student".
