set an application to constantly read and write to the hd. set the power saving to turn off the monitor some minutes before the hd turns off. any time you like as long as the monitor turns off before the hdd does. the monitor will go into power saving. then the hd will try to go into power saving while it is being read from or written to. bam! the monitor will wake up! this will continue endlessly.
i wonder if i am the first to notate this bug. if you don't think it works, make sure something is acessing the drive at the time it goes into power saving.
