Title: New keyboard
Post by: Mimic on Tue, 22 March 2011, 08:07:49
Hi guys,
i need a professional advice from the veterans here on the board :D.

Im from Germany and want a new keyboard, now im using the G-80 with blues.
I like it but the formfactor and the non existing stealplate are some cons.
So i searched for some variants and found the "Das Keyboard", "Filco tenkyless" or should i wait for the "Xarmor" to be released here at europe?

Or do u have some other boards to be tried out? The board should have blues, thats the only thing i need :D and of course the german layout.

Ok thanks for advice!

Filco at thekeyboardco.com ?
It seems to be the best choice in Europe.

Or, but it's not blue, a Unicomp with german layout.

Razer Blackwidow might be a good shout if you are looking for a board with back lighting and blue switches.

Sure go for a Blackwidow - Especially if you are interested in total random quality, poor customer service and of course – "Ultrapolling" at 1000 Hz…

I thought Ripster was a bit extreme when he said don't bother with the XArmor and go straight for a Deck. Growing older and wiser, I chose not to say anything. You can't go wrong with a Deck anyway. Awsome board with top notch quality.

But Razer? I couldn't resist.

He doesn't need backlight, so a filco or a modded g80-1800 with blues (very rare).

Well he did mention XArmor... He didn't say backlit.

Some XArmor are backlit some aren't. The risky assumption - Why would he want a standard XArmor over a DAS or a Filco if not for the backlit feature?

So the backlit proposal was not far off.

But you are right... He didn't ask about quality either.

He didn't say Animal, Vegetable or Mineral either.

"Im from Germany and want a new keyboard"
"(...) Stealplate (...) The board should have blues"

MX Blue + Stealplate
Maybe backlit

Stay focus

Since I can't post attachement in PM here's what I'm talking about with the Deck dark gray finish wearing off after a while. The black spot is where my finger rest during gameplay

It's a minor cosmetic issue.
